How & Why to find Woodland Labyrinth

How

This dungeon only drops from the Great Owl, a unique and rare enemy that spawns in the godlands.

Why

This dungeon used to be not worth doing, due to having the lowest risk-vs-reward ratio of all the epic dungeons, and arguably out of all the dungeons in general. Now, it is a difficult dungeon that drops decent loot for your troubles. The boss has a low chance to drop Life pots and a guarantee to drop Greater Attack and/or Greater Vitality pots to several players (guaranteed both if solo), along with a moderate chance to drop up to old tops. In addition, it drops the UT Leaf Bow at a low rate which is a very powerful weapon that most Archers/Huntresses would do well to have in their inventories. ###Navigating The Dungeon While navigating through through the dungeon, be careful and try to dodge the turrets bullets. They can inflict Paralyze, Silence or Weak, depending on the type of turret. Being paralyzed is the most threatening debuff in this dungeon, especially when you are in a room of Mecha Squirrels, which can kill you swiftly if you are not a melee class. Don't underestimate the other enemies, though, as they are all capable of high damage. The path to the boss is very unclear to the maze-like design of the dungeon, which gives the enemies plenty of time to attack you. The enemies that you will want to look out for the most are the Mecha Squirrels. *Never* attempt to tank the shots of a Mecha Squirrel, the damage is too high even for a maxed melee to get through safely. Even if you do tank them and survive, you'll still be very low health. ##Boss Phases ###Megamoth Larva

The Megamoth Larva is the first and easiest phase. This phase isn't difficult to survive; just keep your distance. If you are within range, it will start chasing you whilst alternating between two attack patterns: • Firing radial bursts of green spirals that inflict Sick • Firing a 3-armed spiral of blue missiles, alongside smaller shotguns of green Sick spirals After a certain amount of time (or if sufficient damage is dealt), it will move to the centre of the room, activating its special attack: • Throws bombs that spawn Puke Water tiles over the centre of the arena, lasting until the end of the fight When the boss begins flashing and moving to the centre of the arena, this is the sign that it is about to change phases. Ensure you keep your distance from it for maximum survivability. ###Mammoth Megamoth

This phase is more challenging than the first. After it finishes flashing red, it will spawn a number of Micro Megamoth Sentinels which inflict confusion. Always avoid these shots; getting confused, especially if unfamiliar with confuse controls, can send you towards a swift death. The boss alternates between two attack patterns: • Flies between the corners of the room while leaving behind a trail of Stunning green crescents. Upon reaching a corner, it will briefly circle in place and fire two bursts of green bolts that converge in front of it. • Flies around the room’s edge, firing barrages of Stunning green crescents roughly perpendicular to its movement. Strafe to dodge the converging shots, and keep in front of its movement whilst it is circling to avoid taking any damage. When the boss activates its special attack, it moves toward the centre of the room before firing a barrage of shots alternating between the cardinal and diagonal directions. These cover the entire arena, so ensure you remain diagonal to the boss so you can easily strafe between the barrages. ###Murderous Megamoth

This is the final phase of the Megamoth. All existing minions evolve into [Micro Megamoth Guardians](/wiki/micro-megamoth-guardians), which inflict slow. Again, avoid these shots, as getting slowed increasing the likelihood of the boss catching up with and sitting on top of you. The boss alternates between two attack patterns: • Slowly chases players, firing aimed shotguns of returning, Quieting green bolts alongside streams of yellow spinners perpendicular to its movement. The yellow spinners will abruptly decelerate and stagnate after travelling a certain distance, becoming stationary hazards. • Repeatedly lunges at players at fast speeds, while firing 4-way shotguns of green crescents that inflict high armor-piercing damage. It will also frequently release parametric pink glaives (although these are less threatening). It is vital to keep actively moving around the arena and never stand still during this phase, due to the lunging attack pattern and the necessity of dodging lingering shots. Remaining along the edges of the arena will increase your chances of surviving the rest of the fight. When activating its special attack, it will move towards the center of the room and start flashing red, then proceeds to fly in circles around the map, leaving behind a large number of leaf projectiles that linger for 10 full seconds. Dodging these extremely high damage (220) projectiles is vital. Getting sat on by the boss spells instant death, so do not remain directly in front of its travel path.
