Let me preface this by saying: I am not the most moral person to ever walk the earth

Despite this, I’d like to bring the attention of all realm players to an issue. The issue being racial slurs. I would like to see the realm community resist the urge to use “the N word” when expressing anger, no matter the situation. I feel that the use, although virtual, is unfair to members of other racial groups. As such can be major reason players coming from other backgrounds would resist becoming a part of such an awesome community. I find it important that as a community we come together to create a more inclusive environment for all players.

As of right now, I’m not sure. I made the post to field ideas from other players with regards to this issue.

People should be able to shit talk with their friends and as a joke.
If someone makes a joke on a bus or train that you find offensive, is it a problem? No it’s not.
And anybody who does think it’s a problem should get a job and some friends so they understand people speak differently in different social situations and groups.

Unfortunately, there are some people in the world who can’t control their use of racial slurs as defense.

I’m glad you brought up the situation; however there isn’t much we can do.

I agree with you wholeheartedly on your matters.

DECA seems to have no interest fixing this issue, so your best bet is to advocate the use of normal language.

This game is a massive multiplayer game. People from around the world can access it.

While some countries frown upon the use of racial slurs, other countries don’t care about the usage, neglect control, or encourage it.

Your answer is: Most likely not going to happen.

If people are sincerely disturbed, they can take one of three actions:

  1. Report the behavior to DECA. DECA (although they aren’t working on a stronger chat filter), do ban players for the excessive use of racial slurs.
  2. Ignore the player that is doing so.
  3. Disable chat as a whole.

If someone learns of your ethnicity/religion/whatever and repeatedly insults you for it, you can either /ignore them or report them to Deca for harassment.

If the racial slurs aren’t directed at you, then… why do you care? Who made you a spokesperson for every minority on Earth? Or, more to the point, why do you care about what some 14-year-old craving attention says?

Anyone who’s against people saying anything about anything when they have a hassle-less option of simply clicking a button to ignore them is far to emotional too exist and needs to be thrown in a god damn asylum.

Trof’s right. Just ignore them, and if you get seriously triggered over it, you can always report them using deca help lines.

(Also - You can spell that horrific word on a calculator…)

If you go to the Doctor they have developed a new pill for this issue, Its called a Concrete Tablet what it does is hardens you up, but not like viagra… I believe the real medical term is concretushardenupus
