What's the difference between EU servers and US servers?

#1

If you live in the US, do EU servers become slower, or if you live in the EU, do US servers become slower? Or is it just different server names? Does it affect server quality (less lag)?
im a noob pls no hate

Your client connects to a certain server run by Amazon(?), so the farther away the server is, the longer it takes to connect or something. I’m probably wrong about this.

The computers that host the US servers are located in the US, while the ones that host the EU servers are in Europe.

so if you’re in the US, you have higher ping to the EU servers (and vice versa). You should aim to play on the ones in your region, since you’ll have a lower risk of dying to lag (usually). This is also true to a smaller degree with US West/East/South servers

Correction!

The modem mainframes ** that run the US servers and etc.

there are three stages of connection. Client, host, server.

The lag playing from US (no proxy) is between Host and server because it’s so far away from client. Playing EU server in the US WITH proxy is between Client and host because of IP address location error issues.
