Rolling

Roll/Rolling:Creating a new character, leveling it, then examining his stats - if they are below or above average HP/MP.

Rolling is necessary when you have lots of stat pots so you will have a more HP/MP character and less pots to drink.

Average HP counts are marked at 575 for robe classes, 605 for bow classes, 625 for Ninja and dagger classes, and 675 for armor classes. Average MP is 290 for robe classes and 195 for every other class. You will always gain between 20-30 HP per character level, regardless of class. However, MP gain is scaled differently between robe classes and others. Robe classes will gain 5-15 MP per level, while other classes gain between 2-8.

The chance of you gaining a certain amount of HP (or MP on Robe classes) on a level gain is exactly 1 in 11. For non-robe class MP the chances are better (1 in 7). Given the scale of stat increases, it is theoretically possible to have maxed or absolute minimum HP or MP (or both) on a fresh level 20 character. However, the chances of this are 1 in 61,159,090,448,414,546,291 (that’s 1 in 11^19) for HP and Robe class MP or 1 in 11,398,895,185,373,143 (1 in 7^19) for non-robe class MP.

Most players roll for HP and MP only as all other stats are much easier to max. When rolling it is best to continually check your +HP/+MP at lower levels as it is best to start off on the right foot. Try and aim for +10/+10 by level 5 and keep on checking every level. Though, a better or worse HP/MP roll may not make much of a difference for some players, especially when healing/magic healing pets are involved.

The rolling can be tricky - you can have stunning +60 hp, but -40 mp on a Priest, or vice-versa on a Knight.

(Un)Lucky Luke
(Very unlikely for either; really very unlikely for both)
Robe classes: +-50/+-50

Robe classes: +-95/+-95
Other classes: +-95/+-57

This is a helpful table that tells you if at a certain level your HP or MP is guaranteed to be above or below average by level 20. Note that the HP calculations were made with robe classes in mind. Archer and Huntress have 30 more HP, dagger and katana classes have 50 more HP, and sword classes have 100 more HP.
