16x16 sprites turned into 8x8 (and vice versa)

I tried making 8x8 sprites for the realm gods
as you can see, half of them are crappy (i mean, they were meant to be 16x16)

The construct sprite comes from a another one of my threads, the Various realm enemies thread.

Djinn and Leviathan were hard to make, and ended up being my least favorite of the sprites.

My favorites are, in order :Headless Horseman, Sprite God, Medusa, Construct, White Demon (i couldn’t work the wings in sadly)

Quick question? Should i attempt to do vice versa with the beach enemies?

For some reason I keep jumping whenever I see the scorpion queen, its probably because I always expect to see the normal 8x8 sprite

Hermit God and Ghost Ships just naturally morphed into 8x8 sprites and were probably the easiest to make.

The Lord of the Lost Lands is just a great image to look at whenever you are having a bad day, he looks hilarious to me, stuck in his little armor

All the dungeon bosses and event gods look adorable to me

Another strange looking 8x8 sprite added, as you may see i did not have enough room to incorporate all of the Horrific Creation’s spikes and had to shrink his eye (now he looks sad)

Malphas worked out much better than expected but Esben is still my favorite of the dungeon bosses.

Puppet Master is probably my most cramped looking sprite since he had so much detail to put into a small sprite

I could not fit the whole Forgotten King`s crown in, but he at least looks decent.

I moved the Stone Guardian`s leg for a more natural look as it was bothering multiple people.

The Nightmare Colony was easier to make than expected while Pyrr was quite the opposite, being much harder to make than expected.

I decided to do some more 8x8 to 16x16, although this one isn’t enemies.

So far, just the Cave of a Thousand Treasures and Spider Den. What are your thoughts, should I make more like this?

There are enemies seen in the darkness, a treasure rat partially behind the gold in the Tcave, and a spotted spider entering the den

Yeah, that one is my favorite, i was going to use it as my new signal (instead of the little construct)

The ghost god looks like a squid.

I think the Beholder, flying brain, and the ghost god need less linear shading, but other than that these sprites look really cute!

Technically they were pet sprites, but yeah, and he did better


However he did no event gods or headless horseman

i would be pretty scared if i saw a giant 16x16 cube shooting at me on the beach

I totally love the headless horseman one :stuck_out_tongue: and the ent god got really cute aswell :3 all are really nicely done!

Those were the 3 weirdest, yeah. They are my least favorite. The djinn, ghost god, and leviathan sprites were hard for me to translate into 8x8 sprites

I think the main way that I am going to use this thread is for spriting practice and whenever I feel like I want to change my profile pic.
