Anyone know a way to play realm in China?

Wonā€™t help if he canā€™t claim them before the end of the month.

#13

crap i forgot he want to play it, not the login calender

Use a vpn. I went to China last summer, and vpnā€™s are super easy to download and get you on everything from youtube to realm. Just look up ā€œvpnā€ on whatever browser they have there and download the first link (there are so many vpnā€™s that the government stopped blocking them). While vpn internet speed is atrocious, youā€™ll be able to get on.

  1. Do you have a phone
  2. Does your phone internet work in china?
  3. You could try puffin w/ rotmg.
  4. Before trying anything, check and make sure you canā€™t get in serious trouble for bypassing the blocksā€¦ Donā€™t want you to get fined or something for rotmg

#16

Whatā€™s blocked, the website, or the actual game, like when you click the play button?
Also I sent a message about a cool idea, Idk if youā€™ve seen it yet

#17

thereā€™s a player in AE who speaks chinese (a couple of his buddies too, same guild iirc), and streams in Chineseā€¦ Just dunno if he is actually from Chinaā€¦ Hmm, I was going to provide a Twitch URL, but it seems I lost it :T (I think i just temporarily subscribed for an event he was hosting)

Dā€™oh, this ended up being a waste of typing and posting :stuck_out_tongue: iā€™ll look out and update, thoughā€¦

hongkong?

#19

Possiblyā€¦

Iā€™d have to ask if I ever see that person again

Not to mention, if I remember who that person was :3

(lemme try digging through my twitch and see if i can find him)

In the meantime, maybe you can ask in public chat in AE if anyone is playing from HK.

As thedrdu said, your best choice might be to give your acc to a trusted friend in case you donā€™t find a way to be able to play in china, I would gladly help you but, we live in different places and well, acc sharing is banneable :c

Someone speaking and streaming in Chinese could be anywhere, and could very easily be in Hong Kong, Taiwan or Singapore (where I think one of the servers is), where Chinese is the main or a main language. Obviously there are far more Chinese speakers in China, but I doubt many if any could access ROTMG well enough to stream it, as well as access Twitch which is almost certainly blocked.

#22

Might sound obvious but could try going into AE/ASE server and asking in chat if anyone there is in China/has any good tricks.

#23

I come back from Google bearing gifts!

Sorry, not much more to be found :frowning:

#24

It would not surprise me if ROTMG is blocked. You might ask ā€œwhy!?!ā€, but Chinese internet has gone from being mostly open to mostly closed in recent years. Social media is largely blocked, and people are expected to use Chinese services which the government can closely monitor. And games could be treated the same way. There are lots of games to play in China, and people are expected to play them. Especially games like ROTMG with social elements and chat.

Hmm weird. My friend that is living in china is playing league of legends with us in Singapore. I donā€™t see why canā€™t u play realm in china?

#27

Well, I do know a wayā€¦
Just, like, idk, donā€™t go to china?
Thatā€™s one option. If not, then just get a fucking VPN.
Also, from what some people have said here, you canā€™t get fined for using a VPN in China.
As long as itā€™s not for any malicious intent, using a VPN in China is completely legal.

#28

no doubtā€¦

which is why i didnā€™t make any random guessesā€¦
i mean we made small talk and all that, so itā€™s not like heā€™s just some chinese guy to meā€¦

and there are easy workarounds to access blocked sites from a restricted countryā€¦

Losing importance (at least to me), but he spoke and streamed in English.

i hate replying with stuff i never thought iā€™d have to elaborate ><

#29

try using ultrasurf, its an extension you can download that allows you to play. Similar to a vpn. Good luck!

#30

Because they believe the western idealization of the internet will corrupt their culture.

#31

But itā€™s just porn, anime, videogames, and more pornā€¦
