Here’s an example of how I’d imagine dyes would work with this skin using the Lush Camo and Dark Camo dyes.

Skins that fundamentally change how the character looks and animates have always been my favourite, so I tried to spice up how the Archer moves with this skin. I feel like this skin would help give Archer some diversity in skin options and a nice change in animations that I feel the class is somewhat lacking currently compared to, for example, Wizard skins.

Dyes would affect the bandana and pants; I feel like the quiver and its strap should stay dark grey, but I suppose the quiver could share dye with the bandana and the strap could share dye with the pants if more dye coverage is needed. Inspired by Rambo’s appearance in the second film in the series. I refrained from rounding out his head because of how big Rambo’s hair is in those movies!

The Treasure Troll wouldn’t actually attack, but this ‘attack’ animation would play when players get near him. He should be a bit faster than players so it makes sense that he’d be looking back. I guess it could work by shooting invisible dummy bullets that do no damage when people get within a certain range, say, dagger attack range?

I imagine this monster working a lot like a mix between the Leprechaun from the St. Patrick’s Day event and a test chest. Instead of attacking, he just runs away hoping to get people killed by luring them through dangerous territory. I hear there’s some sort of goblin dungeon in the works, so this might be useful there.

I had nothing in particular in mind for what he would drop, though maybe a tiny bit of Realm Gold would be enough to compel people to go berserk while chasing after him? I’m calling him a troll right now because at twice the size of players he seems a little big to be a goblin!

Meet the Twilight Acolytes, a band of dual-wielding rogues that originated from the north, where they utilize the shadows of twilight to their advantage.

_I tried to make this skin interesting by making the rogue dual wield, and had a lot of fun (and trouble) with making the animations. Now the side animations were the easiest to make and probably the best looking. I was especially proud of the attack animation I made, where I opted out of using the typical slash animation for a stabbing/pivot animation where the rogue uses both daggers. _

Now onto the front animations, it was tougher to transfer what I made into a front perspective, but I believe I did a good job in the end. I had still managed to make the rogue attack with both hands, but this was much more challenging as the front perspective for a stabbing animation was much more challenging to make for an 8x8 sprite. In the end I settled for a half slashing/half stabbing animation, that could be interpreted both ways, instead of a strictly stabbing animation that looked much less emphasized due to the perspective.

The back animations were maybe what I struggled with the most. With the rogue holding both daggers in front of him, I found it best to leave out the weapons as they would naturally be hidden from view by his body. The walking animation was not that challenging, but again, the attack animation was what I struggled with when I chose to opt out of using the typical slash animation. With the rogue stabbing, the dagger would be hidden from view while it was in front of him, so in the end what he is doing is mostly left to the imagination. But with the projectiles coming out I believe people will see in their minds what is supposed to be interpreted.

Meet the Lightning Wraith, a mysterious entity that once awakened, strikes with tremendous force and power. Whether it’s purpose is to protect or destroy is unknown.

_I think this sprite works better as a mini-boss or monster instead of an all out final boss character. In terms of where it could fit in in the game I could see it being in a dungeon with several elemental entities, or perhaps as a larger minion like the the Brutes and Commanders of Oryx in Oryx’s castle. _

This was a lot of fun to create and animate. I drew a lot of inspiration from the Archons in Starcraft. I started off trying to replicate what I saw but as you can see I made a lot of changes to make it fit better and look better in game. With the walk animation it propels itself with energy produced from it’s midsection, and with it’s attack it channels the same energy into its “hands”, producing a devastating blast. Overall I tried a lot of different colour schemes and it was quite hard to choose which one looked the best, but I ended up sticking with the original colour scheme that I created it in.
