Blocking and name changes

What happens when you /ignore someone and they change their name?
Does the block move to the new name?

Imagine taking the name of a spambot from a year ago and starting out in this game with everyone having you blocked.

Does the current system deal with this issue?

I think the system uses the player ids.

/lock definitely continues through a name change; I’m fairly certain /ignore does too.

I guess the current system already deals with this issue like when you lock one player.
But in any case, I doubt bots will pay 1000 coins to change their name, it’s easier to create a new account.

If a bot went out of rotation a year ago, a new player can select their name for free.
If someone doesn’t log in for over a year, their name is free real estate.

No, but there is a difference between lock and block.
