INTRODUCTION

Good to you all, guys! Today I come to bring my latest advance on my idea for a new mechanics for the game, That for some time I was trying to analyze the concept of how it would be and today I come to bring a sample, to know how it would seem, Hope enjoy :smiley:

Now, before trying to explain how the sub-abilities work, give this example:
You are doing a dungeon, Undead Lair.
You are 8/8 and do dungeons are relatively easy, and your equipment is the best of the best.
You begin to feel that there is nothing more to be done, that now your only role is simply to farm the best Ut’s until someday you die, Or suicide by lava.
This always came to my mind and makes me feel annoyed., The cycle repeats itself. I’m right?

Well, this is where the concept of sub-abilities came to mind, giving a touch of endgame to the game and competitiveness.

EXPLANATION

Now that I gave my introduction, I come with the second part.
What are the subskills?
The subskills, as the name says, are secondary skills that act passively and interact with the character, granting passive improvements that will help in combat.
The player can only have up to 6 subskills, 3 Common tier, 2 UT Tier and 1 Legendary Tier.

The subskills, depending on the tier they have, grant stronger and unique improvements, the legendary tier skills awards more than just improvements, grants a different gameplay.

Now, how are the subskills obtained? Simple, with the Skill Books, which fall from all kinds of monsters, from basic enemies to gods and bosses.

CONCEPT

Now, here I will explain how the window of the subskills would work.
After clicking on the sword-shaped window, As you can see in the image, A window will open that will show you your skills, or the slots that you will occupy.

As you can see, the abilities of tier Common, Ut’s and legendary are seen with different letters, This makes it known which and in what order they go.
The design of the interface is pretty bad, I know. I’m still improving it.

In short, already having shown them how subskills work, now I have to define how they are used.
The skill books, just like the potions are consumable, nonetheless. You can only consume 3 of common tier, Of ​​rest the game will not leave you consume a 4th book.
ok, let’s move on to the next facet.

SKILLS & MASTERIES

In this part I will show you a few subskills that I have done, In addition to this I will clarify first some doubts that you may be having.

  1. The skillbooks are farmeables and tradeables, The LT and UT They are soulbound.

  2. Some SK are only respective for their classes, as I will show you below.
    They will not work if they are consumed by a class that is not of their type.

  3. The player will only have 3 common slots available, if the player wants the UT slots and LT will have to consult with deca and his wallet.

  4. The subskills can be level up, Common Skills up to a maximum of 3.
    The U’ts up to a maximum of 2 and the LTs not.
    To level up the skills you must have it already set, Use the skillbook corresponding to that skill and will level up.

  5. Some subskills provide benefits to allies, however they are independent.

NOTE: Once a subskill is consumed, It cannot be removed or changed until the character dies.

Shield Mastery

Shield Stance

Level 1: + 3% Bonus Max Health.

Sword Mastery

Effect: Increases damage while using sword.
Level 1: + 4% Bonus damage.
Level 2: + 8% Bonus damage.
Level 3: + 12% Bonus damage

Critical Strike

Effect: Gives a chance to deal 1.5 damage while using sword.
Level 1: + 1% Critical Chance.
Level 2: + 2% Critical Chance.
Level 3: + 4% Critical Chance.

Tome Mastery

Can used by: Priest
Effect: Increases priest wisdom and maximun mana while wielding tome.
Level 1: + 2 Wisdom + 10 Mana
Level 1: + 3 Wisdom + 15 Mana
Level 1: + 5 Wisdom + 20 Mana

Tome Knowledge

Can used by: Priest
Effect: Restores a percentage of priest missing mana while wielding a tome.
Level 1: + 2% Of missing mana every 5 seconds.
Level 1: + 4% Of missing mana every 5 seconds.
Level 1: + 6% Of missing mana every 5 seconds.

Speed Training

Can used by: Knight, Paladin, Warrior, Rogue, Trickster, Assasin, Archer, Huntress, Mage, Necromancer, Priest, Sorcerer, Ninja
Effect: Increases speed and speedy status duration.
Level 1: + 2 Speed + 0.3 Seconds Speedy
Level 1: + 4 Speed + 0.5 Seconds Speedy
Level 1: + 7 Speed + 0.7 Seconds Speedy

Whirlwind

Tier: Common
Can used by: Mage, Priest, Sorcerer, Necromancer
Effect: After using skill, Your next basic atack unleash a whirlwind that pushes back and deal damage to nearby enemies.
Level 1: 25 Damage / Pushes 0.3 Tiles
Level 1: 50 Damage / Pushes 0.5 Tiles
Level 1: 75 Damage / Pushes 0.8 Tiles
Coldown: 60 seconds.

Shield Bash

Can used by: Knight
Effect: Increases the damage of the knight shield skill.
Level 1: + 4% Shield Damage.
Level 2: + 6% Shield Damage.
Level 3: + 9% Shield Damage.

Heavy Armor Mastery

Can be used by: Knight, Paladin, Warrior
Effect: Increases defense while using heavy armor.
Level 1: + 2 Defense.
Level 2: + 4 Defense.
Level 3: + 5 Defense.

Heavy Armor Adapt

Can be used by: Knight, Paladin, Warrior
Effect: Increases speed while using heavy armor.
Level 1: + 2 Speed.
Level 2: + 3 Speed.
Level 3: + 5 Speed.

Shield Block

Effect: Gives the knight a chance to block basic atacks, Cannot block purple damage.
Level 1: + 4% Block Chance.
Level 2: + 6% Block Chance.

Bash Mastery

Effect: Increases knight Shield Range.
Level 1: + 0.4 Range.

Vitality Boost

Effect: Increases vitality.
Level 1: + 5 Vitality.

Physical Training

Effect: Increases atack.

Heavy Lift

Life Up

Combat Mastery

Effect: Increases damage dealt and reduces damage received, Cannot reduce purple damage.
Level 1: + 3% Damage dealt, Reduces 3% Damage received.
Level 2: + 6% Damage dealt, Reduces 6% Damage received.

Technician

Tier: UT
Can be used by: Knight, Paladin, Warrior, Rogue, Trickster, Assasin, Archer, Huntress, Mage, Necromancer, Priest, Sorcerer, Ninja
Effect: Increases maximun mana and wisdom.
Level 1: + 4 Wisdom + 3% Maximun Mana.
Level 2: + 9 Wisdom + 6% Maximun Mana.

Healing Mastery

Can be used by: Priest
Effect: Increases priest healing power and reduces skill mana cost.
Level 1: + 10% Healing Power - 5% Mp consume
Level 2: + 20% Healing Power - 10% Mp consume

Perseverance

Tier: UT
Can be used by: Paladin, Warrior, Knight
Effect: Reduces armor piercing damage received.
Level 1: + 4% Purple damage reduction.
Level 2: + 8% Purple damage reduction.

Blessed Body
image
Tier: UT
Can be used by: Knight, Paladin, Warrior, Rogue, Trickster, Assasin, Archer, Huntress, Mage, Necromancer, Priest, Sorcerer, Ninja
Effect: Increases healing power and healing received.
Level 1: + 8% Heal Power + 8% Healing Received.
Level 2: + 16% Heal Power + 16% Healing Received.

Human Shield

Can be used by: Knight, Paladin
Effect: Creates a barrier that absorbs a certain amount of damage.
Level 1: + 50 Damage Absorb
Level 2: + 90 Damage Absorb
Coldown: 120 Seconds.

Monster Hunter

Can be used by: Knight, Paladin, Warrior, Rogue, Trickster, Assasin, Archer, Huntress, Mage, Necromancer, Priest, Sorcerer, Ninja
Effect: Increases damage dealt to bosses and gods.
Level 1: + 3% Damage to bosses + 2% Damage to gods
Level 2: + 5% Damage to bosses + 4% Damage to gods

Rejuvenation

Tier: UT
Can be used by: Warrior, Rogue, Trickster, Assasin, Archer, Huntress, Mage,
Necromancer, Sorcerer, Ninja
Effect: Restore some health every 5 seconds.
Level 1: + 8 Health every 5 seconds
Level 2: + 15 Health every 5 seconds

Paladin’s Pride

Can be used by: Paladin
Effect: Increases paladin defense,Atack and damaging duration.
Level 1: + 2 Atack + 2 Defense + 0.3 Damaging duration
Level 2: + 5 Atack + 5 Defense + 0.6 Damaging duration

Warrior Will

Can be used by: Warrior
Effect: Increases warrior Health, Fire rate and Vitality.
Level 1: + 25 Health, + 5% Fire rate + 3 Vitality
Level 2: + 40 Health, + 10% Fire rate + 6 Vitality

Knight Knowledge

Can be used by: Knight
Effect: Increases knight defense, Mana and stun duration.
Level 1: + 15 Mana + 3 Defense + 0.2 Stun duration
Level 2: + 30 Mana + 6 Defense + 0.4 Stun duration

Blessed Shield

Tier: UT
Can be used by: Paladin, priest
Effect: If health reaches below 5%, Gains inmunity for 5 seconds.
Level 1: Coldown: 48 Hours.
Level 2: Coldown: 24 Hours.

Charge Impact

Tier: LT
Can be used by: Knight, Warrior, Paladin
Effect: After using a skill, The player charges towards the pointer, Pushing back and stunning all the enemies he passes by 1 second, Charge inflict 250 Damage.
Coldown: 15 Seconds.

Winter’s Blessing
image
Tier: LT
Can be used by: Sorcerer, Mage, Necromancer, Trickster, Ninja
Effect: Attacking enemies makes you get winter charges, At the maximum of charges releases a cold wave in 20 tiles that inflicts 300 damage and slows enemies affected by 99% for 10 seconds.
Coldown: 180 Seconds.

Nature Bless
image
Tier: LT
Can be used by: Priest, Paladin, Necromancer, Mage
Effect: After using a skill, You and a nearby ally gain + 200 Vitality for 5 seconds.
Coldown: 20 Seconds.

Mad God Rage

Tier: LT
Can be used by: Paladin, Warrior, Knight
Effect: After using skill, You’r next basic atack deals 500% of the Damage. (Cannot proc multishots)
Coldown: 25scs

ENDING

Well folks, this is all I have for now, I’m doing more LT and UT’s for all classes.
I know, I focused a lot on the knight.
I was playing knight while I was doing it, that’s why I got so many ideas for knight xD

That aside, it seems to be too complicated an idea for ROTMG. Many people already have a hard time getting to 8/8 and the addition of subskills or masteries taints the foundation of what rotmg is.

Its nice that you put effort into your thoughts though.

are you aware that fidget spinner things in void does not armor pierce, which means this have chance to BLOCK ONE OF THOSE.

god no. this is not league. We already have enough DPS.

This will be broken as hell.
Maximum 1shot damage dealt in history is ~2600 damage, using full attack + void blade.
500%? that is 2600*5, which is WHOOPING 13000. that can literally oneshot septavious/limon and such.

I actually like this Idea, but I don’t think it will fit with rotmg too much.

I actually really like the idea. A couple things I might have changed is the actual icon so for the skills, as they look too crisp for RoTMG

I don’t think this would fit in rotmg. Its not really new player friendly because there is so much content, not to mention how op it would make an 8/8 warrior. Maybe in some other games like path of exile or warcraft, but realm? I cant really see that being added.

Those sub ability images remind me alot of a game called Golden Sun for GameBoy Advance. But yo, what is image It reminds me of a certain medicinal herb. Lol.

Lots of these would be overpowered in general or when used with another skill or a specific class.
I am not sure what you mean by the levelling up concept, but if this was not covered I have a suggestion: you need to find the specific skill from bosses, then you can get tokens to level up any skill of its tier. Another suggestion is that it would be possible to use these skills across all characters, maybe a UI in nexus to choose which to equip. It would be pointless to have it changeable on the regular screen. For example, if an archer had cbow and dbow and was in a dungeon with many people, as the group approached the boss the archer might have to swap out the cbow for the dbow, then go into the skills and switch a +dex for +att skill. Assuming the character wasn’t leeching and swapped upon entry, by this time theres a decent chance the boss will either be dead or too low of health to get soulbound.

10/10 for effort

8/10 for sprites. Nice sprites but they don’t really fit into the game.

10/10 for concept

HOWEVER, if you actually look through these ideas, most of these items are pretty broken so you might want to nerf a bit. Balanced wise, 3/10?
