Computer is slowing down

#1

Ok first i have mac os x 10.9.5,`` i play on mozilla (faster than projector on my comp idk why)
now what is wrong - like last week my computer just slowed down. i cant really tell if its just realm or not, it seems like everything is slower, but not sure. After reading and much attempted troubleshooting, i discovered that flash is a probable cause of the problem. I noticed that it used a high amount of cpu (over 100% didnt even know was possible), but i figured it always used that much. People reccomended that i should uninstall and reinstall flash, but the unistaller doesnt even work for some reason. What should i do?

Is the memory on your computer full or near full? When my memory was full there was a noticeable impact on the game for me, and it resolved once I added more memory to my computer.

If it’s not full or near full at all, then my advice can’t help you. Sorry

Factory reset it; by that I mean reset it’s SSD. I have a Mac and it works great. To keep it from slowing down quickly, avoid downloading any hefty files. I used to stream videos and my SSD ran out in a few months. It’s been over a year since I’ve reset my SSD and it’s running smoothly.

#5

I said memory, not storage.

#6

i mean my dad downloads a bunch of long vids (concerts my mom is in) and im not fully sure what u mean by reset the ssd

#7

like my ram?

#8

Basically, yes.

#9

Did you do a 7 pass or 35 pass wipe?

#10

i have 20gb-how can i tell if its “full”

#11

When my computer’s memory was near full, it just gave me alerts every now and then.

#12

i didnt think memory could get full, isnt it just what it is running at the moment?

#13

I’m not good at explaining techy things like this, sorry.
Could someone help explain this to him?

Look up “How To Factory Reset a Macbook”

Once you get to the reset screen, you will have two options:

  1. Restart computer (basically does literally nothing)
  2. Erase SSD

Erasing SSD will make it completely brand new, as if out of the shop (aside from any scratches you might have on your macbook, ofc). Make sure you back up all the data you want on a flashdrive, or multiple.

#15

what data is stoered on the ssd?

#16

What apps you have downloaded, and all your files on your desktop, obviously. So back up all your porn

#17

oh gosh darn it cant do that then my dad has too much stuff he would kill me if i touched it

#18

If you’re having long concerts being kept on your computer the thing is going to run slow.

Your best option is to buy a external hard drive and to move all that onto the hard drive.

and if it’s still slow factory reset.

Couldn’t have put it better myself!

@Nightfeld if you’re using your dad’s computer to play realm, heck, just get a computer. Save up, it’ll only take you a couple hundred to get a Dell or something.

#20

not my dads comp, he just created an alt account to store shit, besides, the hardrive still has like a TB free so i dont get how it could be full (and i wish they would let me get a computer)-sad life

2/4 TB free
