Early/Mid-Game UTs 1

#1

Lepidoptera Spell

“A spell created by a wizard studying the location of the wooden labyrinth.”

Stats:

  • Tier: UT Spell
  • MP Cost: 35
  • Range: 18
  • Damage: 1-70 (45)
  • Total Damage: 20-1400 (1380)
  • Stat Bonus: +20 Mana
  • Special properties: Shots are parametric
  • Fame Bonus: 0%
  • Feed Power: 80

Drops From:

  • Mama Megamoth
  • Beginner Quest Chest

Idea explanation:

Drops form an early dungeon most new players run. The introduction on early UT should be put in the game to understand that they are an alternative to the progressive tiered items, with different stats and abilities. Since wizard is the starting class it would be a perfect introduction to the games system.
Butterflies as projectiles.
This spell though is basically just a weaker version of the Spelling Spell.

Ader Venom

“A small, weak poison from a coil snake.”

Stats:

  • Tier: UT Poison
  • MP Cost: 30
  • Explosion radius: 2.75 tiles
  • Duration: 1
  • Damage over time: 50
  • Damage on impact: 150
  • Flight time: 0.4 seconds
  • Fame Bonus: 0%
  • Feed Power: 110

Drops From:

  • Great Coil Snake
  • Beginner Quest Chest

Idea explanation:

Low cost, low damage poison with a short flight time. Essentially focuses on landing the poison to do the damage; delayed spell bomb essentially.

Piercing Talon Trap

“A trap made from the fangs of a white dragon.”

Stats:

  • Tier: UT Trap
  • MP Cost: 80 MP
  • Duration: 18 seconds
  • Explosion radius: 4.5 tiles
  • Effect: Exposed for 3 seconds
  • Stat Bonus: +1 Attack
  • Fame Bonus: 1%
  • Feed Power: 315

Drops From:

  • Adult White Dragon
  • Standard Quest Chest

Idea explanation:

Exposed is a very good idea that should be available to more classes because samurais are rarely played as much. The drop rates of this item may be considered rare considering how hard it is to find an adult white dragon.

Single Pauldron

“Armor worn by a previous arena champion.”

Stats:

  • Tier: UT Heavy Armor
  • Effect: On ability use: Speedy for 2 seconds
  • Stat Bonus:
    +16 Defense
    +1 Attack
    +1 Dex
    -40 Mana
  • Fame Bonus: 1%
  • Feed Power: 285

Drops From:

  • Minotaur
  • Standard Quest Chest

Idea explanation:

Decent armor in early game, drops from a low level enemy in realm.
Based off the pauldron armors that was just a shell on the shoulder.
Originally +10 speed for 2 seconds was the idea but would be too OP with warriors. There are no early or mid game UT heavy armor available.
Basically a rushing armor.

Nightmare Skin Armor

“This skin seems to move on it’s own, are you sure you want to wear this?”

Stats:

  • Tier: UT Leather Armor
  • Effect - Reactive Proc:
On taking damage: Shots above 50 damage casts Parasite Pull
  • Parasite Pull: Heals 30 per enemy
  • Range: 5.0 tiles
  • Stat Bonus:
    +13 Defense
    +4 Dexterity
    +4 Speed
    -10 Vit
  • Fame Bonus: 2%
  • Feed Power: 500

Drops From:

  • Walking Horror
  • Nightmare Colony
  • Mighty Quest Chest

Idea explanation:

Armor that reduces active healing which will probably be weak in IC/OOC. When taking damage essentially would use a skull ability on self to heal.

If you wouldn’t mind clarifying what you mean by that with the poison, and offering a range of how far the Parasite Pull affects, that world help.

I may be misunderstanding your poison one; normal poison already affect everything they splash on in a certain radius, so what does this one mean by “shots pass through enemies?” I didn’t see any mention of projectiles like a wizard.

Edit: Welcome to the forums, by the way!

Appreciate your response!
Just formatting error I’m sorry, if I can edit I will fix it.

For the poison I accidentally left that in from the formatting suggestion when making the post. It functions like a normal poison please ignore the special properties bullet. In theory it’s just a poison that can be thrown about 8 times on a max manna assassin for 200 damage per throw if all land and the single poison proc happens.

For the armor I just never stated the range of the effect and I’m sorry. It’s 5.0 tiles just under the range of daggers. I’m not sure if this item should have a half second cooldown because maybe the procing can be too much.

I was taking the data from my imgur post https://imgur.com/a/IamR6rQ#9OU2Av4

That’s fine! I’ve goofed up with my formatting when crossing information between websites before, both in school and for fun. It happens. Just a good thing to fix it quickly before many notice…

These are fantastic and I am completely in love with the spell in particular - from the sprite to the effects. I would give my left hand to see that beauty in game!

Thank you so much Puffagod! Love your work

The shots I was thinking could look like this.

I was envisioning it to look like 20 butterflies flying around attacking a mob when the spell is used.
