Exclusive Classes

Your point…?

The core mechanic of the game is grinding ma dude, putting something behind a grind is literally the entire game in a nut shell.

#23

core game mechanics

Not talking about potions, but classes. Those are the essence of the game, they offer varieties in gameplay styles.

Pets became a core game mechanic with the potential they offer and the impact they cause on the game. Look how great that turned out, hiding them behind a paywall.

Pots. You say pots are a core game mechanic and theyre behind a grind, sure. Look at the amount of continuous debate and back-and-forth balancing going on regarding where they’re dropped from and stuff. Do we really need to complicate something as simple and essential as a class and hide it behind a grind?

It’s the one aspect that’s remained pristine and untouched by the grind and the paywall. Why corrupt it as well?

How would a new player feel, knowing that an overpowered class is only attainable behind a huge grind?

Fine don’t make the class OP. Then you get rants regarding how many dungeons so and so ran, got the class only to find out it’s not the glass cannon one shotting wonder he dreamed of it to be?

No. Let’s not ruin the game any further.

Note that Mystic, Trickster, Sorcerer and Ninja cost 999 gold. This heavily influences that these four classes are the “ultimate” classes due to the gold price. Some require the “Tier 2” classes. For instance, Sorcerer requires assassin and some other class.

#25

ninja requires rogue and warr, which are technically within the basic classes pool

#26

No. It just means that someone at Kabam was very greedy.

#27

I wonder if they did any assessment of the pricing at all or just numbers “out of a hat”.

Paying for unlocking classes would be a viable idea if there were like 50 classes, to allow pay-players to shortcut to one very far along the unlock tree. But yeah, as it stands, is meaningless,

deca class is now in stock

As much as I hate to admit it, you’re right @Shatter. I would make it so that last empty slot on the character select screen had a “seasonal” character of sorts, making a generic guy that changed depending on the time of year. (Snowball man near Christmas, Easter egg hunter during Easter, etc.)

@Nevov, more true words have never been spoken.
