Sword and shield. Double sword might look badass and all, but since you can’t really take a lot of hits IRL, better get something more balanced.

If you were to fight in medieval times, would you rather use long-range heavy weapons such as catapults but have bad weapon skills, or fight at melee but with very good weapon skills?

That’s where the difference comes in. In real life, you don’t fight like in video games :

  • No giant creature, but lots of fighters similar to you.
  • You pretty much die in one hit (or two if you’re lucky).
  • Melee fighters in middle age didn’t have crazy dodging skills and all of that jazz.
