Game overworks my gpu

I have a really shitty GPU, and my game screen will often freeze because the gpu is being overworked. What’s the easiest way to decrease the load of the game on my GPU?

Check your PC’s not overheating. There are apps you can get to check CPU and GPU temperature. Check nothing is preventing it from cooling down, such as dust in the air intake area. Finally it’s the time of year when PCs tend to overheat, so a cooling fan or just opening a window can help.

I also want to know your computer’s specs.
For mine, I can effectively zero out GPU usage by disabling dxvk… But then my CPU ramps up.
But you probably won’t be able to do that.
