When the ghost king becomes killable, it stops being your quest for a short while so you won’t gain a quest complete when you kill it without waiting a little while (or tping to a nearby person). I believe this is because the killable ghost king and the ghost king during the archer phase are actually two different monsters, and I think this also affects ents and liches.
Its quite annoying.
