Guaranteed Rusher SB

Thorough Explanation:
Rushing. It’s something that any player can do as long as they understand the mechanics of the dungeon as well as the enemies. The only problem is that even after risking their lives and possibly resources to rush for the group, rushers still have a chance to receive only a mark.

This is not necessarily a problem. However it seems unfair to the rusher.
There is however a possible solution for this. That solution focuses on utilizing a mechanic that’s also used in a fame bonus.
This mechanic is called: Tiles Seen.

Every dungeon is unique in its own way. Different enemies, different levels of difficulty and different paths that require players to traverse the scene and discover tiles on their way.

The rusher will be able to be distinguished from all other players by the system through the cataloging the amount of tiles discovered per player. The player with the most amount of tiles discovered before the activation of the boss of the dungeon, will be considered the rusher.

In practice, the rusher would have the most tiles discovered in the dungeon due to creating the path directly to the boss.

Wouldn’t other players be able to follow the path the rusher has created in order to get the lead?

Yes, players would be able to follow the rusher to increase their Tiles Seen score but that wouldn’t be considered rushing if they simply followed the rusher. The amount of tiles the rusher would have seen would be greater than the followers as long as the rusher is ahead of the rest of the dungeon, regardless of whether being followed or not.

Can’t players branch out in order to gain more Tiles Seen?

It may be possible for players to get an edge in the amount of tiles. However, if the rusher is headed straight for the boss, the amount of Tiles Seen would steadily increase whereas branching out to other rooms will lead to dead ends. Hence the rusher would still have more Tiles Seen than the rest of the dungeon.

Quick Explanation:

  • Distinguishing rusher from other players using Tiles Seen mechanic
  • Rusher will always have the most amount of Tiles Seen
  • Impossible to exploit mechanic unless it’s a race against multiple rushers
    (No chance for leechers to gain guaranteed SB)

Pretty sure all the dungeon developers hate rushers since they don’t appreciate the dungeon if they do. I think @Atrapper mentioned something about it.

If you want guaranteed loot, you just have to solo. Rushing isn’t special anymore with pets.

If you can think of a way that would allow players to obtain more Tiles Seen compared to the rusher then please share it with is. I have thought of probably every conceivable way and couldn’t find any way to exploit this unless you manually changed the values.

Branching out can easily beat the rusher, just to to him and go the opposite way. Also, what if a rusher nexuses after someone tps? That person would have the most tiles if others are leaching. What if there is no rusher? If Player one goes the right way while player 2 goes the wrong way, what if p1 gets stopped by an enemy and p2 hits a dead end, then walks to p1? P2 would get guarunteed sb. In any case where people clear, sb would be up for grabs.
Not to mention, Im pretty sure tiles seen would have to be client side and they would definitely need it to be server side to compare between players

Tiles are server side because it’s a dynamic statistic.
As for the rusher having to nexus; the runner up player would obtain SB.
And finally, if the original rusher gets stopped by an enemy and someone overtakes them in an attempt to become the new main rusher, they would be in the lead for SB.

This concept also allows for something like a minigame with the basis of best rusher wins.
