Since they are soulbound I assume you are supposed to get payment after popping? How common are scams?
How does selling runes work?
I’ve sold runes a few times and have never been scammed. Mostly it’s
- List on RealmEye
- get reply, often quickly, then a delay until they’re ready with e.g. a server
- meet on that server and trade to confirm you have the runes
- get to O2 where you use them and get given the e.g. Deca rings
The one time that didn’t work the person with the rings had to Nexus or got disconnected. I popped the runes then met them in Nexus to collect the rings
I’ve sold runes about 5 times, but I got scammed once. It’s really just mutual trust for both you and the buyers to uphold their end of the deal. Skandling said they’ve been paid after pop, I usually got paid before the pop, it’s all what you decide with the buyers
It’s similar to key pops. Instead of trading the keys, you share a bond of trust with the buyer/seller. If you’re selling the key and want to pop first, you have to trust that the buyer will pay afterwards. If you’re buying the key and paying first, you have to trust that the key seller will pop. Also, if you ever get scammed, you can just tag them as a scammer on the website. It can stack up so people will see how untrustworthy the person is with trading, so they’ll get a bad reputation. You kinda just have to trust the other guy with the trade and hope you don’t get scammed. It’s risky, but it works.
