Jar of Rotten Earth

38%20AM

This dense dirt possesses an unsettling fuschia glow and smells of despair, dread, and decomposed cabbage. One of the only physical substances to directly influence the etherial world. Very concussive.

Stats:

  • Tier: UT
  • MP Cost: 125
  • Poison A: 222 damage within 0.5 squares (222 on impact) over 0 seconds. Stunned for 3 seconds.
  • Poison B: 333 damage within 1.5 squares (33 on impact) over 5 seconds. Slowed for 5 seconds.
  • Stat Bonus: -5 VIT, -55 HP, +5 WIS, +55 MP
  • Special properties: Ignores stasis.
  • Fame Bonus: 5%
  • Feed Power: 555

Drops From:

Grave Caretaker (yes, another poison in cemetery but it’s the most fitting apart from Kage Kami, but this item and that enemy should not get the same treatment as QoT from nature sprites)

More info

At first glance, the mediocre damage and awful radius as well as survival penalties make this poison seem useless. Ignoring stasis also at first seems like a useless property too. However, the combination of stunned (yes, I threw stunned in there, seemed fitting to represent the concussive element) and slowed in combination with ignoring stasis proves to have very interesting uses for both mystics and assassins. While the stun element is meant to be a pin-point hit for bosses, the slow makes the boss easier to hit and makes its surrounding minions (orbitals or chargers) less dangerous. Stasis, instead of being an inhibitor, allows this poison to influence enemies when they are much easier to hit, which in combination with curse, proves a very interesting duo.

However, the stasis itself is not great in large groups, as known especially in LH. This poison shines instead in small groups where DPS can be sacrificed from stasis for mass effects.

The Crusade spawn is a primary example. The mystic stasises minions while the group focuses on commander. Even here, the effects of the poison are amazing if it lands. After commander dies, if the minions are still stasised (and almost guaranteed to be cursed), the perks of the poison allow for easy damage due to some being stunned, many being slowed, and all being cursed, making it much less dangerous.

However, stationary enemies susceptible to stun are especially weak to this poison such as skull shrine’s first phases, though the poison is less effective than a knight’s stun due to it’s cost.

This poison suffers horribly against erratic/immune enemies like Limon the Sprite God and Void Entity (when they both move around). Not only is the poison almost impossible to land or ineffective when it lands but the only active effect the poison would give you then is negative HP and VIT.

Still a very rough draft, feedback is strongly encouraged.

I missed these forums btw.

good thing i was there in the LHs to bring you back :^)

#3

No too op btw

#4

if nobody stasises, is it really OP?

#5

You can give immune to invincible and say “some bosses don’t being invincible so it’s not too op”

#6

poison is already immune to invincible

#7

Poison doesn’t “ignore” invincible, it just runs its timer since it already landed during a point where it wasn’t invulnerable.

#8

that literally is ignoring invulnerable

#9

Not really as the poison has a said damage total, it not dealing that because an enemy goes immune while it’s ticking would mean the ability of an assassin is actually meaningless.

#10

no its not.
If poison hit when boss is mortal then it will hit even when boss is immortal
immune to invincible= u can spam this poison in a immortal nut and kill him without activation

#11

“immortal nut”
:eggplant:

#12

made my day

#13

No, stop :joy:

#14

why did I start this argument :frowning:

#15

lol no more trolling

#16

pls add sick to the poison as well it will be easier if enemy dont regenerate

#17

this aint a pserver XD

#18

Holy Christ is this broken. Ranged stun ON TOP of the same slowed duration as a Tier 4 Trap or so? Even with absurdly small range, who cares?

Forget Knights and Archers, just bring a bunch of Assassins with this poison and Huntresses with CTraps get the best of both worlds in an entire class less more or less reliably.
