3: Ability Overview

The Holy Flask: A drunkard’s secret weapon
The Deity uses a “Holy Flask” to burn enemies for a short period of time and applies bonus damage each time the ability hits the same target(s) before the fire sizzles out. Same as a Poison.

The Flask is thrown just like a Poison, but lands 0.4 seconds faster.

Higher-Tier Flasks will apply the new status effect, Debilitated.

4: Status Effect Explanation

Debilitated: Marks enemies, causing them to take quadruple the amount of maximum damage listed on a flask if struck by a Spell, Poison, Scepter, or another Holy Flask. Mark is then consumed.

For example: A Wizard with Eledeto deals 165 damage with a Spell bolt to a target afflicted with the Debilitated Status effect. A Tier 5 Flask now deals 600 damage INSTANTLY, causing the target to take 765 damage total. Any damage the flask did before the mark was consumed is also applied(obviously).

If an enemy is struck by TWO FLASKS, the one with the most maximum damage will deal the bonus damage.

To maintain balance, low-tier Flasks don’t have the status effect.

All damage dealt by the Flask counts toward SB. Two flasks that hit the same target receive the same amount of SB damage, but not any other ability.

6: Why It Works

This class does seem like a new spin on Assassin, and you wouldn’t be wrong. It is.
What makes it unique is it’s focus on casting a status effect to enhance the damage an enemy takes, unlike the poison.
This class ‘crits’ enemies when an ally (or yourself) casts a spellbomb, poison, chain lightning or another flask on a ‘debilitated’ enemy.
This class has EXTREME synergy with other classes AND can perform well on it’s own with it’s decent mana cost on most abilities. The only downside is being quieted, as you won’t be able to abuse the sheer power of the Deity’s Holy Flask.

7: Ending Notes

To anyone who survived this long post, thanks for reading. This will be my last class idea for a long time.
Honestly, making the flasks ‘different’ from each other was hell. Please don’t attack me for the low-quality flasks/names. In the end, it’s still just a flask.

The “Holy” part of the Ability name is just a joke since it’s used by a God.

I would loveee feedback for this. One of my most in-depth and serious class ideas!

#2

Well it’s nice to see that some class ideas are well thought and finished before posting! Let’s get into this.

First thing, I’m not sure the term of “Deity” would be a good idea for a class. Since it’s supposed to be immortal, it wouldn’t fit with the other classes. Maybe keeping the aspect of drunkard and changing the name to something like that would be better?

A few problems here. First one is the difference between average hp at 20 and stat cap. It would take an average of 67 life pots to max hp. Way too much. Also 385hp at lv.20 is almost nothing.

Second problem is that the stat cap for mp is lower than average mp at 20. As would say some shatters boi, “Impossible… IMPOSSIBLE!!!”

The rest of the stats look fine to me, although I’m not a specialist on stat balancing.

Onto the flasks. Great idea, but a few things might need a change. Note that some of those are just precisions that you might have thought about but didn’t precise.

  • The bonus damage applied by the debilitated debuff should count towards the drunkard’s sb damage and the person that used the spellbomb, scepter or any other damaging ability.
  • The damage of the flask itself shouldn’t go through invulnerability, like the assassin. Else, it would make the assassin obsolete.
  • Change the tier order of T1 and T3 seems more logic.
  • Give debilitates for 3 sec to the T3 and 4 sec for the T4 one, so even low-level players can experience this debuff. In counterpart, reduce their damage if you think they would be too OP.

Apart from that, great balancing on those abilities! This class idea is both inovating and decently balanced, it could even be a rework of the assassin! I love to see such well-made ideas, great job on this one!

#3

Then, instead of making a class idea out of this, why not make an Assassin rework idea? That’s something that needs to happen soon, while a new class probably won’t be coming for a while.

#4

Yeah, the idea was made at 5 AM in the morning so I knew I would screw up somewhere, fixed the stat mishap

Regarding the ‘immortality’, I attempted to resolve the problem in the Lore; characterizing him as a drunkard who would be unable to enter the wine cellar without slipping up. A little placeholder while I let my brain work things out.

A reply to your notes:

  • I will surely mention that the raw and bonus damage of the Flask applies to SB. When it comes to other classes, their damage will be applied to SB depending on the damage they dealt without the Flask bonus damage.

  • I would say to allow it thru invulnerability, BUT if another ability hit the target, the mark wouldn’t be consumed. Otherwise there would be complaints for bosses like Crystal Prisoner negating all their damage.

  • I just tiered it that way as a placeholder because these flasks are so hard to make without sounding absolutely stupid. I see what you’re saying though.

  • Considering the players using the T3/T4 Flasks will have a good amount of mana, that’s why they don’t have the effect. They would already be able to spam Spacebar for decent damage and with a good pet, you would always be able to cast.

Thanks for the feedback by the way. Really caught me slipping up in some places :+1:

#5

The Assassin is just a decent class already so I wouldn’t know how to give it a rework.

I like it so much I’ve lost 3 7/8-8/8 Assassins and have another 7/8 one waiting to die. This class just never gets old.

If you can prove to me that the Assassin isn’t wurf, hell, I may just try hard to make a new one. It’s just a class I already appreciate, is all.

#6

In a way (chaining abilities to snowball their effect) it’s similar to the druid, but far more offensive. Debilitate is pretty cool, but any reasoning behind those abilities exactly chosen to activate it?

Edit: also, add a debilite status icon, perhaps?

Also, good job on the details! Quite well developed

#7

Ehh for the chain effect, I just thought about what would logically ‘react’ to a magical flame.

Maybe not a shield stun, but a Spellbomb would surely do the trick!

Something like that… yeah

I’m not good with Icons, but I may think of something.

Thanks for the feedback man.

#8

Why will no new class come for a while, is this an unspoken rule of realm devs?

#9

Pretty much, yeah, + the game doesn’t exactly need a new class, especially one that’s very similar to an existing one.
