New way for deca to make money [custom houses]

I like that idea! then you could display it in the guild hall with your name under it or something :D

Trophy collecting was my favorite in Terraria. I would always set up a trophy room ready to mount every trophy on, and I would fight bosses over and over until I got every trophy, and then I’d get the fishing trophies. If boss trophies were added to realms I would sure as heck be trying to get all of them. We are killing Dreadstump until his cannon/hat/beard/whatever is mounted on my wall

#23

you guys keep on coming up with great ideas keep em coming lol

Good idea !

Furniture pieces should drop from hermit, in a white bag.

Pets are a terrible addition. Vit and wis should be adjusted to be far more affective and (if anything) a pet should boost a players natural vit and wis rather than compensating entirely for it.

How is it different from character skins? It isn’t, and thats the point. It’s entirely cosmetic and doesn’t effect gameplay. People still want these types of things. I know I would. It’s fun to chase cosmetics that last forever and could make for some interesting future competitions.

How is the game not about ‘fun times’ its a game. I think you have a very rigid view of what realm is. The entire point of the game is to die and have fun. To get better, and to set goals and accomplish them. Just like many other games.

This idea (while unpolished atm) could be an interesting new way for players to set and reach goals. Add incentive for actually going back and doing dungeons many people don’t even look twice, at. Give another factor of the game that players can continue to build regardless of their deaths, and gives deca the opportunity for mystery boxes, events, etc that aren’t totally p2w features which are actively ruining the game.

Deca has cornered themselves with ideas that were interesting early on. Events and mystery boxes, and its actively killing the game for quite a few players who have been around for years.

I like the idea, but I don’t think it would be appropriate to call it a ‘home’. It would be a better idea to call it something like a faction hall. Where the entire history of your characters (including your alive characters) make up the faction. Additionally, I always thought it would be funny for our ign to be faction names, and to be given the option to name our individual characters something different (even if its randomized to avoid people naming characters inappropriately). so that characters had a name similar to (X of IGN). Not a major change, but it would help make more sense as to why all our characters are played by the same person and have these fame bonuses such as ‘ancestor’ and ‘first born’ which implies they are all somehow related.

good idea but i doubt this would generate a lot of revenue because it does not affect the game really.

Neither do skins, yet they’re popular.

Personally I’m against a home but the features that everyone are discussing here would be a nice addition to the guild hall, I feel it would work better to just add these ideas there rather than have another room that people likely won’t use much.

The idea of “socialising” and such would work well with the guild hall already, as it’s already like a private room, only for your guild. I think once Unity comes out it won’t be too difficult to just change the guild up to allow visitors or something.

Like an Achievement section? Sure, why not? But I still don’t like the idea making your own house.

This is an entirely different issue that shouldn’t be dragged here. Many people have different opinions on this and I’m not going to go over here.

My point over my past replies have been the same – this just doesn’t sit well with the Realm theme.

I never said Realm shouldn’t be fun. Of course it’s a game. I was talking about the theme and backstory of it. Like said before, an implementation only works well if it compliments previous additions.

But why does it have to be a house? Can’t it be a Guild Hall addition? Or maybe an Achievement section?

I believe you are contradicting yourself here. This concept itself is “totally p2w”.

Many of the events have been very beneficial to players. I don’t know where you’re going with this argument.

skins are something everyone can see at anytime while a home none would be able to see unless like you teleport to their home

#33

Just make ghalls more customizable and have more features. I really like the idea of specific bosses dropping themed furniture, but ngl houses are a bit much.

#34

We can have the shatters generators as furniture

#35
Supporting this idea. This will be so cool where it’s just not about grinding gears anymore. You can also create a crafting table (Which includes of slots, free 3 slots for normal users, more slots available for purchase), for more complicated furnitures, where users need to merge different furnitures into one.

agreed, plus I see this as having no point, and would probably be left to rot just like arena and guilds.

we don’t need more rotting corpses, we need attention being put into fixing and making existing features the best they can be.

[well not me, I don’t exactly count anymore, so UHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH]

I wish they would do more with them, the arena has the potential to be an enjoyable, profitable part of the game, but they’ve just never done anything else with it. Also as others have been saying, this idea would work fantastically with guilds too.

Speaking of which, I found a way this could be implemented without it just being guild furniture, but also it’s not just like a social house you visit. Basically it combines the two earlier ideas, each guild member or higher (not initiates) gets a default room for free, with other themes being unlocked via gold, as some boss drops (like pet stones and skins), or in events, same thing with furniture. Furthermore, although there can be different themed skins for this too, your room can have access to a skin wardrobe, and also a task board and a single gift chest. The skin wardrobe would just be a skin wardrobe, the task board would be quick access to your daily quests, and also 3 times a day total, a guild member can put a mark in to reduce the amount of that mark needed to finish a quest, and the gift chest is just a place that other players (not you) can put non-sb items, and then you can take them out, thus allowing guild members to give gifts to each other.
You would access these rooms by walking up to a portal that looks like a door near the back of the ghall that opens up a menu showing the names of everyone with a room in the guild.
