Winter themed content & Chinese New Year Themed Content

While we keep working towards our next meaningful content releases, this release will mainly be adding themed content. We have included a whole batch of character skins, pet stones and special editions of gear that will be released over the next weeks. You will also find that the Nexus has been decorated with celebratory Chinese Lanterns as well as a beautiful Chinese Dragon.

New Drops

Snake Pit

  • You will now have a chance to find the Eternal Snowflake Wand

Ocean Trench

  • You will now have a chance to find the Arctic Bow

Shatters

  • You will now have a chance to find the Ice Crown

All the drops you usually find in these dungeons can still be found as well.

Tbh the Chinese dragon scared the shit out of me today when I was muling. Because I was using the old client (which still works) and browser for my mule, I was like, ā€œWTF am I seeing things o_0ā€ because my flash client didnā€™t see the dragon but I was scared for my mules life.

Maybe they should have the dragon say nice things so people donā€™t get PTSDā€¦

Holy shit the rock dragon has invaded the Nexus?!

Omg stop with this normal drop trolling please Deca! Just replace the normal item AND add the reskin, so doubling the drop chance for the duration of the event.

Learn from Kabam in this case, when they ran the original dbow/dblade reskin event, removing the normal white and making it double drop rate - it worked fine.

Edit: Further thoughts on each item:

  • Crystal Sword reskin - fine, already farming crystals for Cwand reskin/snowflakes (though you could have put this in at the same time as Cwand reskinā€¦)
  • EP reskin - fine
  • Bulwark reskin - completely pointless if you arenā€™t going to buff the drop rate, bulwark is already so rare drop (1/lifetime)
  • Artic Bow (Coral Bow) - fine (I guess you mean Arctic Bow btw)
  • Hydra/Gsorc/Acrop reskins - fine
  • Ice Crown (The Forgotten Crown) - kinda pointless doing shatter reskins due to rarity, though not as bad idea as bulwark
  • Tome of Frigid Protection (Tome of Holy Protection) - fine

Nowhere has been announced, if true to past form 6 of the 8 will be Misery box only, other 2 put into chest events at 1/1000 rate (odds may be overstated!!).

Hey there everyone,
I can see quite a few people being on the fence about more reskins, lack of content and all. It is true that we currently rely a lot on player-made cosmetics, as the team is not that large so producing good content takes quite a lot more time than we would like. I donā€™t know if I can reveal much since there is no telling when it will hit the servers, but we are working on a few dungeons as well as a couple more things on our side.
Donā€™t worry too much though, we didnā€™t take over RotMG from Kabam just to sell skins and call it a day (thatā€™d be a boring ass job). Just remember everyone at DECA are people too, and with Christmas and all quite a lot of time has been spent with our families and not necessarily in front of our screens.
Just be a little more patient, fellow fleshbags. Your organic overlords have plans for you.
