How do you know if the realm is truly closed?

It probably is the revived phoenix since only killing their first form is needed to close the realm

Can confirm. The egg can be left unhatched after the Phoenix is killed and it plays no part in the realm quest progression, and if it’s then hatched after the realm is closed it becomes a quest.

What I don’t know for sure is whether a live Phoenix Reborn before realm blocks the close. I suspect it does, in the same way that if you activate other quests and abandon them, killing them is still needed to close the realm. But haven’t got 1st hand info to confirm.
