Question about SB loot

#1

Haven’t found a clear answer here, but was wondering whether the threshold for all soulbound bags is the same for a given boss?

By that I mean, I got my first soulbound bag from an O3 miniboss just now, and it was a purple bag with just a cloth. I don’t know whether that means

  1. I did enough damage to get myself a chance at better loot, and RNG decided to only give me the cloth
  2. I did only enough damage to get myself that loot, and I need to try to do more damage in the future

I looked in the wiki and this topic:
https://www.realmeye.com/forum/t/guide-to-loot-and-drop-rates/60740/38

But didn’t find an answer.

Thanks in advance!

This. Even if you did secured your SB damage, you will still get 0 from a mini-boss.

Soulbound thresholds can be different per item on an enemy’s loot table. However, this is rarely done, and the threshold has mostly been standardized to be extremely miniscule. It’s not really a game mechanic nowadays for the most part.

Thanks a ton! I added that info to this wiki page, not sure if it’s the right place and feel free to change anything I wrote: https://www.realmeye.com/wiki/loot-containers

Out of curiosity, are there any places where it is done currently? I’ve been curious about this, but without word of god on the matter it would be extremely tedious to test.

This is what a boss’s loot table looks like:

You can see that for each item there’s an independant probability and threshold (amount of damage needed to be dealt to get a chance at loot)

Here’s another example on Oryx, which can drop two items of the same tier:

PS: those drop rates are outdated

Is that the game’s coding?

That’s the XML part of it, idk if it still works like that since exalt tho
