Rarest Character Skins

I am procrastinating right now so I decided to list the rarest non-exclusive, released skins in the game by character.
“Rarest” will be determined by the lowest number of people who have the skin equipped on their character on Realmeye out of all the skins for that character, as this should be a suitable (though obviously not perfect) approximation of the proportion of players who have the skin unlocked. Perhaps this may not be accurate to the reality, but it’s still interesting to see.

Rogue
1. Dapper Disguiser Rogue (7 people have this skin equipped)

This skin has shown up in mystery boxes 8 times (most recently being this November), and is one of the skins you can obtain from a Rogue Mystery Skin. So, we’ll see if it stays tied in first place for long.

1. Scorpion Hunter Rogue (7 people have this skin equipped)

In comparison, this skin has only shown up in mystery boxes 4 times, though one of the mystery boxes this was in was still as recent as this November. I think this one will likely win out for most rare of the rogue skins overall.

2. Heartless Dodger Rogue (10 people have this skin equipped)

This skin has shown up in mystery boxes 9 times (once again, most recently was this November), and is also one of the skins you can obtain from a Rogue Mystery Skin.

Archer
1. Raven Archer (14 people have this skin equipped)

This skin has shown up in mystery boxes 10 times (most recently was this November).

2. Chu-Ko-Nu Archer (20 people have this skin equipped)

This skin has only shown up in mystery boxes 5 times (most recently was this November). Additionally, the wiki says it’s obtainable from the Halloween Mystery Skin.

3. Oryxmas Archer (34 people have this skin equipped)

You may think it’s surprising that this is here given it’s a tradable, but perhaps it makes sense. To the best of my knowledge, this was only obtainable from the Oryxmas Mystery Gift, and that was RNG if you even got a skin, then there was RNG on which of the 15 class’ skins you got. Given the rarity, you wonder if the offers on RealmEye right now for it should take this in mind…

Wizard
1. Angler Wizard (3 people have this skin equipped)

This is a relatively new skin, so perhaps it’s understandable. This has so far only been available in one mystery box back in October, alongside the corresponding pack containing the skin.

2. Moss Magus Wizard (5 people have this skin equipped)

This skin has showed up in 2 mystery boxes (most recently this November), plus one pack containing the skin.

3. Wizard of Christmas Present (9 people have this skin equipped)

This skin has showed up in 3 mystery boxes (most recently last December). It might come back this December, then!

Priest
1. Doctor Priest (4 people have this skin equipped)

Not a surprising first place, this skin has only showed up in one mystery box plus the corresponding pack back in September.

2. Morris Dancer Priest (5 people have this skin equipped)

This skin has showed up in 2 mystery boxes (most recently this November) plus 1 pack containing the skin. It’s still relatively new, so everything adds up.

3. Dionysus Priest (7 people have this skin equipped)

This skin has showed up in 6 mystery boxes (most recently this October).

Honorable Mention: Panda Priest (8 people have this skin equipped)

This skin has showed up in 5 mystery boxes (most recently this August!), and is in the Priest Mystery Skin pool.

Warrior
While tempting, I don’t think I’ll give the Ivory and Olive Gladiators a ranking here since those could probably fall under “exclusive”. 14 people have the Olive Gladiator equipped, so it wouldn’t even place, and 0 (!) have the Ivory Gladiator equipped.
1. Pirate Chief Warrior (1 person has this skin equipped)

Congratulations to OmniCas for, at the time of this writing, being the only person with this skin equipped! This skin has showed up in only 1 mystery box and the corresponding pack in October.

2. Singer Warrior (9 people have this skin equipped)

This skin has showed up in 5 mystery boxes (most recently this November).

3. Scarecrow Warrior (10 people have this skin equipped)

This skin has showed up in 14 mystery boxes (most recently this August). Surprisingly, it’s not in the Halloween Mystery Skin pool.

Knight
1. Wise Swine Knight (7 people have this skin equipped)

I’ll be honest, I’ve like never seen this skin before. This skin has showed up in 8 mystery boxes (most recently this October).

2. Monster Hunter Knight (10 people have this skin equipped)

This skin has showed up in 5 mystery boxes (most recently this November).

3. Astronaut Knight (15 people have this skin equipped)

This skin has showed up in 3 mystery boxes (most recently this November).

Paladin
1. Lighthouse Keeper Paladin (2 people have this skin equipped)

This skin has showed up in 1 mystery box alongside the corresponding pack in October.

2. Hero Paladin (4 people have this skin equipped)

This skin has showed up in 2 mystery boxes (most recently in November). As a side note this skin is really cute and I have a tough time deciding if this or Sworded Inquisitor would be my ideal paladin skin.

3. Exploratory Bot Paladin (10 people have this skin equipped)

This skin has showed up in 3 mystery boxes (most recently in November) and 1 pack containing the skin.

Assassin
1. Peddler Assassin (8 people have this skin equipped)

This skin has showed up in 4 mystery boxes (most recently in October). Seems fairly rare all around.
2. Infested Assassin (10 people have this skin equipped)


This skin has showed up in 2 mystery boxes (most recently in November) and 1 pack.

3. Romeo (12 people have this skin equipped)

This skin has showed up in 4 mystery boxes… most recently in September 2018. Now THAT’S rare.

Necromancer
1. Skink Necromancer (12 people have this skin equipped)

This skin has showed up in 7 mystery boxes (most recently this July).

2. Oryxmas Necromancer (19 people have this skin equipped)

Yep.

3. Heartless Necromancer (21 people have this skin equipped)

This skin has showed up in 4 mystery boxes (most recently this November).

3. Jack-o-mancer (21 people have this skin equipped)

There was a tie for third! This skin has showed up in 2 mystery boxes… with the most recent being November 2018. Luckily, you can get this from a Halloween Mystery Skin…

Huntress
1. Gravekeeper Hunter (7 people have this skin equipped)

This skin has only showed up in 2 mystery boxes, most recently in October 2018. Whew.

2. Oryxmas Huntress (18 people have this skin equipped)

Yeah.

3. Moonlight Elf Huntress (27 people have this skin equipped)

This skin has showed up in 10 mystery boxes (most recently this September).

Mystic
1. Mystic of Christmas Past (12 people have this skin equipped)

This skin has showed up in 3 mystery boxes (most recently last December). Maybe we’ll see it come back this December.

2. Lightning Mystic (15 people have this skin equipped)

This skin has showed up in 5 mystery boxes (most recently this November) and one chest event (a Thicket chest event back in April of this year). I think this might say something about skin drop rates from chest events but I’m not sure.

3. Fire Goddess Mystic (17 people have this skin equipped)

This skin has showed up in 2 mystery boxes (most recently this November) and 1 pack.

Trickster
Trickster appears to have some of the rarest skins overall across any class.
1. Irish Dancer Trickster (1 person has this skin equipped)

Congratulations to Valkyriie for, at the time of this writing, being the only person with this skin equipped! This skin has showed up in 2 mystery boxes (most recently this March).

1. Brandon the Fish Trickster (1 person has this skin equipped)

Congratulations to ItsBeam for, at the time of this writing, being the only person with this skin equipped! This skin has showed up in 1 mystery box and the associated pack in October.

2. Santa Trickster (2 people have this skin equipped)

Santa Trickster being here is not surprising at all. This is almost certainly the rarest tradeable skin in the game. To those who are unaware: this skin was released in a mystery box once during December 2017 and then never again.

Honorable Mention: Queen of Misrule Trickster (3 people have this skin equipped)

This skin has showed up in 2 mystery boxes (most recently this November).

Sorcerer
1. Electronic Scholar Sorcerer (1 person has this skin equipped)

Congrats to Rhea for, at the time of this writing, being the only person with this skin equipped! This skin has shown up in 1 mystery box in this October (for some reason it was in a legacy box despite it having never been distributed before).

2. Discoverer Sorcerer (2 people have this skin equipped)

This skin has showed up in 5 mystery boxes (most recently being this November).

3. Yin Yang Sorcerer (5 people have this skin equipped)

This skin has showed up in 3 mystery boxes (most recently being this November). Before it showed up this November, this skin hadn’t been obtainable for an entire year!

Ninja
1. Masked Ninja (9 people have this skin equipped)

This released like today so yeah.

2. Dual Duelist Ninja (13 people have this skin equipped)

This skin has showed up in 8 mystery boxes (most recently being this September).

3. Pharaoh Ninja (15 people have this skin equipped)

This skin has showed up in 8 mystery boxes (most recently being this September). According to the wiki it also showed up in a Tomb event or something in 2017 but I can’t confirm.

Samurai
Samurai is like, a runner-up to most rare skins of all classes just because it seems like a bunch of the poor thing’s skins have been largely neglected for the good part of a year (usually, a skin appears periodically throughout a year’s time, but you’ll see from the first placers here that this was not the case). The legacy boxes introduced by the skin mystery boxes changes helped Samurai skin variety out a lot.

1. Masked Samurai (2 people have this skin equipped)

This skin has shown up in 3 mystery boxes (most recently being this November). Before this November, this skin was inaccessible for a year!

1. Shogun Samurai (2 people have this skin equipped)

This skin has shown up in 2 mystery boxes (most recently being this November). Before this November, this skin was inaccessible for over a year!

2. Tattooed Yakuza (3 people have this skin equipped)

This skin has shown up in 3 mystery boxes (most recently being this October).

Honorable Mention: Cowboy Samurai (4 people have this skin equipped)

This skin has shown up in 4 mystery boxes (most recently being this November).

I think that that some of those skins just are unpleasing so even if you did have them, you likely wouldn’t equip them

Because of how the data is collected, the ranks become a mixture of least used skins and rare skins x.x

Also due to how many skins there are in the game there are many skins that are bound to be less used. This paired with realmeye’s 1 class per player shown makes it very difficult to properly rank “rarity”. If only realmeye recorded skins seen before as a sum population total…

Yep, so this is far from perfect.

My logic for using what I did as an approximation was that if a higher proportion of people in-game have a given skin, there should be a higher proportion of people with the skin equipped (just because there’s more possibility that someone likes the skin enough over the rest that they choose to use it).
Also, the argument could be made that if people generally like a skin less than others, so it is less used, it would be “rarer” to see someone using that skin in-game.

Another way to do it for mystery boxes only could be to just collect all the data of what mystery boxes a skin could be obtained in, then factor in the time those mystery boxes were available and how many times a skin has appeared in a mystery box. But I think it would be difficult to factor in the change in how skin mystery boxes work (with the crystals and all that).

Another another way would be to just iterate through the list of obtained skins for every player seen in the last 2 weeks but I ain’t got time for that.

The best way to do it would be for Deca to just tell us xd.

Regardless of the data not covering unlocks (which RealmEye couldn’t ever know since if you unlock a skin and never wear it…), it’s interesting outright to see the relative popularity of skins via this method.

And the fact that people can have multiples of a class, using different skins, is kinda safely covered, since the choice of which one is worn on the highest char in itself can be taken to indicate the player prefers that skin, an assumption yes, but a fairly safe one.

It’d be interesting to know, in a perfect information scenario, the %worn of each skin, as in: if there are 10 000 of a skin unlocked across the game, but only 1 player choosing to wear it, that’s a bad worn-rate compared to one that might only have 250 unlocks, but 200 people choose to wear it. stats stats stats
