Greeting Realmers,
Can you feel the cold being absorbed into your skin? We have a way to warm you up - with the latest RIFTS: On Thin Ice!
What are RIFTS?
Oryx found a new way to torture you and fellow realmers in your eternal captivity - once in a while he opens RIFTS throughout the REALM for fun and games. RIFTS are seasonal game modes which run in parallel to the Original mode. They are time limited modes of varying lengths that offer you a different playing experience with altered rules to normal mode. Each RIFTS season will provide new self-contained goals and mechanical twists in likewise varying manner. In RIFTS, everyone starts fresh and will be able to join RIFTS servers for the duration of the season to complete objectives and claim exclusive rewards for the Original mode!
What are the prizes?
We will have 2 types of rewards in On Thin Ice:
Completing the RIFTS quests will grant you various rewards on Original Mode. For On Thin Ice, we decided to add some cool rewards for the RIFTS Mode as well. You can check them out in the table below. If you have purchased the Mad Pass before completing any of the RIFTS quests, you will get more and better rewards! You can check those out here.

Note: This time round, the time of purchase of the Mad Pass does not matter. What does that mean? It means that the moment you purchase it, even if you have already completed some of the Mad Pass Quests on RIFTS Mode, you will still get all rewards from the respective quest on Original Mode! Just remember, the quests are once again chained. That means that you canât jump between them, you must complete them in order from 1 to 7. For example, to complete âMad Pass Quest 2â you must first complete âMad Pass Quest 1â and so on. Every time you complete a Quest you will receive a token that will allow you to progress further.
When and how do I get the rewards?
When the season ends, depending on which quests you have completed, you will receive the equivalent rewards on Original Mode (NOT the Rift one). It may take a few days for us to send your rewards, so please bear with us!
How does the leaderboard work?
Being frequently updated, the leaderboard will rank the players with the most alive fame. You can check your own position in the second tab which will also show players that have similar amounts of fame as you.
Dead fame with all its modifiers will NOT be added to your final score on the leaderboard! If you die, your character remains on the leaderboard with the last fame-score he had.
How does the LeaderBoard button on Original Mode work?
The LeaderBoard button (a Golden Trophy icon that is located in the upper right corner of the screen, right below the the Gold) can be used to follow on the rank on players on RIFTS. Once a season has ended, the final ranking will be saved and can be displayed via the drop down menu on the Original Mode. The most recent seasons will be displayed on top of that menu.
How many characters will I be able to create each RIFTS season?
With each season, you will be able to create a set number of characters. That number will be determined by us and conveyed to the community via the RIFTS Rules & Explanation. Be wise with your character choice, because creating and then deleting still subtracts from your total characters allowed. Each seasonâs character creation limit will be shown in the lobby screen where you pick between Original Mode and RIFTS.
For RIFTS: On Thin Ice, you will be able to create 24 characters.
How does the Pet Yard work?
A hard pet level cap has been set at 70. Along with this, all standard items have no feed power values. Instead, pet food itself drops from various boss monsters to tie pet progress more closely into the gameplay cycle.
Drop tables for both tiered and untiered items have been revised to create a more reasonable progression curve over the course of a short mini-season. Additionally, the Pet Yard can be upgraded for free, feeding is free and Rare pets are available.
Will I be able to trade with other players?
No. Trading has been disabled on RIFTS.
How do the Character and Vault Unlockers work?
RIFTS are entirely independent of the Original mode progress. All RIFTS accounts will begin with 2 character slots and 2 vault chests. You may also see additional slots/chests appear as quest rewards at the Tinkerer in some seasons. Vaults and Character Slots unlocked in a season will carry over to future RIFTS seasons.
What items will be available to purchase on RIFTS?
Eggs, Dyes, Backpack, Loot Boosters, Pet Skins, and other Consumables.
Do I get to keep other items that I purchased on RIFTS?
All progress made in RIFTS, including purchased or gained items, will not carry over between seasons, with the sole exception of unlocked character slots and vault chests.
What Dungeons are available in RIFTS?
For this season, you should be able to access the following areas:

What specific changes are present on RIFTS?
New snowmen enemies are present all over the realm! By defeating them in the mountains, you will have a chance to obtain a brand new item: a Snowman Body. Dungeon bosses will also be able to drop snowman hats, carrots, and coals instead of marks.
Using the snowman body item in the realm will make a body appear on the light blue dot on the map. Then by using one hat, one carrot, and one coal, the embodiment of ice will come to life: Jack Frost!
Jack Frost will have extra phases, change up his attacks, and deal extra damage based on the overall difficulty of where the hat, carrot, and coal have been found. Building a Jack Frost from Pirate Cave, Forbidden Jungle, and Spider Den parts will lead to an easier fight than one from Ocean Trench, Tomb of the Ancient, and Oryxâs Chamber parts.
Upon defeat, Jack Frost will throw the parts out, allowing you to destroy them and obtain the respective marks of the dungeons used to assemble him, as well as a chance for drops from their respective drop table.
