You start off as Gandalf. Isn’t it obvious? Along with the ‘Fire Spray Spell’ (a.K.a fireworks), you can’t deny this isn’t Gandalf.

The ‘Beach’ is merely an allegory to the Shire.

Hobbits are one of the first enemies you meet. Especially the hobbit rogue ; a clear reference to Bilbo Baggins for Bilbo was fairly rogue-like, stealing things and all.

. The first ring you get (mind you, the only T0 ring in the game) is the Ring of Power. Even the description supports this. -
Oryx = Sauron. Pretty obvious to me, even Oryx’s colour scheme reflects the ominous dark lord. However, something you might not know is the MrEyeBall is actually the Eye of Sauron. Always searching for the Ring of Power, but never finding it, not even in the mightiest of heroes. (pfft…crowns, bracers, gems, yet none match the majesty of the Ring of Power.)

This is clearly Treebeard, no question.
