Swords

it’s not a total nerf but it’s a nerf. All 3 types of weapons have an increase in shot speed, and for swords, that’s from 100 to 116.5. Aside from that, it’s a big ol nerf. except for glass sword, that got a buff.

the range is meant to stay the same but you lose 0.005 range, so sad. 3.5 to 3.495. or maybe there’s some rounding shit i dont know

  • T0: 45-90 -> 45-90 (thanks deca)

  • T1: 60-105 -> 50-95

  • T2: 75-105 -> 60-100

  • T3: 75-120 -> 75-100

  • T4: 75-135 -> 75-120

(who knew all 3 had the same minimum damage)

  • T5: 90-135 -> 90-130

  • T6: 30-210 -> 40-210

  • T7: 150-180 -> 130-155

  • T8: 180-255 -> 150-180

  • T9: 195-255 -> 160-195

  • T10: 210-255 -> 170-210

(now it’s the same max minimum damage 3 times)

  • T11: 210-270 -> 180-225

  • T12: 220-275 -> 190-240

  • T13: 225-280 -> 195-255

  • T14: 230-285 -> 205-260

it basically just makes cutlass much more viable, but smart people use pixie anyway

Daggers

These also get a shot speed increase, 140 -> 186.5. And yes, you also lose 0.005 range, tragic. Buffs only start at T8.

  • T8: 80-160 -> 80-195

  • T9: 85-165 -> 85-200

  • T10: 90-170 -> 85-205

  • T11: 90-175 -> 90-210

  • T12: 95-175 -> 95-215

  • T13: 95-180 -> 95-220

  • T14: 100-180 no changes where’s the consistency deca smh

Katanas

wow how did you know they got a shot speed increase too, 130 -> 185.5. Their range was already 0.005 less than what it says in game, so instead their range is .005 more than what it says! 4.745 to 4.755. buffs start at T7.

  • T7: 90-120 -> 105-135

  • T8: 90-150 -> 140-180

  • T9: 100-160 -> 145-190

  • T10: 110-165 -> 150-195

  • T11: 120-175 -> 155-200

  • T12: 135-180 -> 165-200

  • T13: 145-185 -> 165-205

  • T14: 150-190 no changes again

tiered more dps than all uts except void blade and sullen. Tiered has lower range but this is a bit much imo. Ninja/samurai need the buffs anyway.

It’s merely testing stuff. Nothing here is set in stone, or may even be released at all at some point.


Although it’s nice to see a dagger buff, I don’t think it’s where it should be. The daggers below tier 8 are the ones that need a buff, since their damage is pathetically low.
In general, daggers’ large damage range is what keeps them back from being better, imo. Of course, completely narrowing them wouldn’t be all too fitting either, but a buff in minimum damage would still be a better thing than making Spirit Dagger the standard type of measuring damage.

I mean, in seriousness, it won’t affect the gameplay much at all other than making Samurai & Ninja more viable while also making most UT katanas completely garbo. Not being able to stasis chests hurts me emotionally, but I’ll live.

  • Doku: Still usable. Essentially a middle ground between tiered and Ray, and maybe a bit better at clearing weaker enemies thanks to spread.
  • Sullen: Was never quite as usable. Honestly, still deserves buffs, since lack of piercing is too huge.
  • Ray: Still usable. Covers range if required, and boy howdy does it do that.
  • Void: It’s a Void Blade. It’s extremely focused on a surprisingly common niche and very effective at it.
  • Kazekiri: I mean, it was never bad, per se. Still deals more damage against lower-def enemies.

As much as I may hate Doku, the tiered katanas getting a damage buff doesn’t completely blow all UTs out of the water.
'sides, it’s not like any of this is 100% confirmed. Some things never see the light of prod.

might have something to do with the fact that they have 90 more base damage than the next strongest weapon type and are all used by the 3 most broken classes in terms of game balance.

I think this is the best thing for melees actually.

Listen, Knights, Warriors and Paladins are just too good. This cannot be argued. The amount of utility and damage they bring is far worth more than their loss of range. They were going to be nerfed SOME WAY or another.

The fact of the matter is that they lose some damage. Boo hoo, melees deal buttfuck tons of damage anyways and can reach Soulbound with their eyes closed. If anything, I’d prefer the damage loss for the Projectile Speed increase. People need to realize DPS isn’t that important in this game as most think in 99% of situations (the 1% is speedruns and solos/duos).
