Here’s my vision of these :

Rogue : solo, rush, utility
Knight : tank
Warrior : semi-tank, short range damage dealer
Paladin : tank, support
Priest : support
Necromancer : support, crowd control
Wizard : long-range damage dealer
Sorcerer : crowd control
Mystic : support, utility
Trickster : rush, utility
Ninja : solo, rusher, multi purpose
Assassin : utility
Huntress : crowd control, utility
Archer : medium-range damage dealer, utility

(by utility, I mean anything that isn’t a main component of fighting monsters, but that is quite useful when it’s there)

Rogue - solo, rush, hit and run
Knight - tank, rush
Warrior - hit and run, (slight) tank
Paladin - tank, damage dealer, support
Priest - tank, solo, support, ranged
Necromancer - damage dealer, support, ranged
Wizard - ranged, damage dealer
Sorceror - damage dealer, ranged, crowd control
Mystic - ranged, support
Trickster - hit and run, solo
Ninja - ranged, damage dealer
Assassin - hit and run
Huntress - crowd control, ranged
Archer - crowd control, ranged, damage dealer

Wizard does have long range and high damage, but the staff means that the crowd control isn’t exactly the best (no piercing).

Erm… cloaks and prisms are very different abilities, although it’s nice to see someone standing up for trickster. :grinning:

Can you explain how the huntress is better? Many players are of differing opinion.

Ninja really isn’t a ranged damage dealer. As someone who has tried taking things down from long range using only the star, I can say that it isn’t a very reliable source of damage, unless you’re trying to get sb on a static enemy without interfering minions and have pretty good mheal.

Necro and ninja playing the same role? One is a short-range glass cannon, the other is a ranged healer. Can you please explain the connection?

A class usually doesn’t need a rare UT simply to become useful. Sorc is good at crowd control (piercing weapon, scepter) and hitting enemies that haven’t necessarily rendered yet, and is quite good in groups with or without fulmi.

#12

I assume you’re on the Archer side?

xD

#13

I’m actually not sure. I really, REALLY like archer (although I am biased, as my most recent one was by far my best character ever), but haven’t played on huntress much. I am legitimately curious, particularly with the debate on quiver vs trap: one is better at premeditated strategy, the other is better in the heat of the moment. It comes down to personal bias and one’s playing style at that point, which we should ideally avoid when discussing classes in relation to one another. As such, simply saying that one is “better” than the other without giving actual reasoning doesn’t help the discussion much.

#14

Not really. Rogue is a better rusher in most situation because of the invisibility. Trickster, however, is better in most fights, because of the decoys and teleports. She cannot get stuck by projectiles (best examples are Forgotten King’s tentacle phase, Marble Colosus survival phase, parasite boss and so on) giving her great survivability, and she can use her decoys to lure away dangerous projectiles and monsters.

Overall rogue is easier and the best to rush but very solo-orientated, trickster is harder but decent at rushing and great at helping allies and surviving.
