Very cowardly to lock the post after making an argument and making claims on how I would respond to your message. At what point did I ever say that I wasn’t entirely pro freedom like you claim? Nice strawman. You are right to an extent, I would respond by telling you that I’m trying to protect freedom, because I am. You’re just against people being able to say whatever they want. In truth, you used that counter argument because you know its the truth. I’m fine with people disagreeing with my opinion. I’m however not fine with the silencing of others, a business you seem to enjoy. Well, first of all moderation requires nuance and therefore requires some skill. Moderation (as well as any other game system), at its core, is done because it helps the game survive and grow. Therefore no, chat moderation does not prevent new players from wanting to join.

You desire to be the most PRO FREEDOM guild in Realm of the Mad God. Well, having NO HACKING as a rule is already anti-freedom. There are plenty of fairly “politically incorrect” guilds which perfectly condone hacking. Therefore your guild is not the most PRO FREEDOM guild in Realm of the Mad God.

So which is it? Are you the most “PRO FREEDOM guild in Realm of the Mad God”, or are you gonna keep forcing your ideology of “no hacking” down players’ throats?

I respect free speech and dislike hacking but the fact that you think you’re leading some political rebellion and the fact that you take yourself so seriously, “Political correctness is death to free thinking :nerd_face::nerd_face::nerd_face:” in this silly fucking pixel shooter MMORPG WHILE ALSO contradicting yourself is so funny I actually don’t think I can express it in text.

Well, which is it? Do you not accept the “free speech” of attempting to cancel someone? It seems like this rule might be abused to silence any dissenting opinions, which, doesn’t seem very PRO FREEDOM to me :thinking::thinking::thinking:

“Chat moderation” is not the same as free speech censorship.

Its our sworn duty to protect minors and others from content they shouldn’t be exposed to. (that content has specific guidelines, specifically pornography and child grooming, two things that seem to run rampant on “child friendly” discords that typically have lots of censorship)

Unlike other discords that have no regard for other’s rights, we want people to feel free to say the things they think, especially if those things are jokes. (even if said joke hurts someone’s feelings, we don’t care. all free speech)

Its not your place to interpret the values of our discord. You can have your own subjective take on this, but we have guidelines. People are allowed to engage in open dialogue on our server.

What point are you trying to make? We can be anti-hack and still be pro freedom. You have the freedom to be a cheating loser elsewhere in another guild. I’m sure 50 would love to take the hackers we refuse membership for. I don’t see the problem here, unless you’re advocating for pro hacking?

Regarding the membership check and chat stuff, I’ll look into that. To my understanding though, if your application is denied or accepted you get one of two roles: deathpoets indicating membership in game, and member if denied indicating that you don’t meet reqs, but can still interact with the community as a member.

Most of your critiques here are pretty stupid.

The discord in and of itself allows people to join that aren’t in the guild and communicate. I am a member of it, not in the guild itself.

RotMG is an MMO(RP)G, let people roleplay their serious guilds. Why do you care so much about some dude wanting to uphold free speech?

“Pro Freedom” is an advertising gimmick, but still true in this case. You can join Death Poets discord and say whatever you want, and you won’t get banned. Of course moderation still applies, if you post child p or say pedophilic shit you’re getting nuked. That should be a given life rule. Never seen someone stand up for hackers so much that isn’t one.

Im not in 50 nor do i like cheaters, just saying not allowing someone to use cheats is already pretty anti freedom. And yes that quote is very cringe and edgy, i shuttered from cringe it was that bad.
