died on 8/8 rogue to a bad tp on garnet statue at night… didn’t learn my lesson, lost 6/8 pally the next day to a puppet of chaos in a mostly empty encore, it was my first that I had to pay attention in… time to rebuild I guess

Actually, the first mad lab boss is quite solo-able. Sorry to hear what happened to your character, I know it sucks, rebuilding.
Let me give you advice:
There is no shame in backing up. It’ll help, a lot. Be patient, and avoid the green potions like it’s the plague.
This is coming from a person who soloed an entire lab as a 0/8 sorcerer.

You literally could have stood back and poisoned the Doctor to death. He doesn’t activate until you enter the room.
Here’s an advice : max your dex first, then def.
Dex is very easy to max, just farm some sprite worlds as wizzards and that should do the trick. You can also keep farming those and sell them to max def. Once your def is maxed, it should be much easier to max the rest.
1)-Kill the monsters he spawns until you get the little grey robots who self-destruct.
2)-Drag said robots far away from the boss room.
3)-Once you’ve dragged 4 of them this way without killing them, he won’t be able to spawn any more monsters and you’ll only have to deal with him and his gas spawners.

Every time I try maxing speed or dex I get sidetracked and die from something random and dumb
