my 5 best hs friends are all hardcore stars fans, total coincidence as well since they didnt bring it up until we knew each other for like a year.

I would say I am a big fan but not a super hardcore fan.

As far as star wars goes and really a lot of things you have 2 groups of people

The nerds and the nerds

The first being people who enjoy it and leave it at that

The second people who enjoy it but also manageable to be an asshole when talking about it amongst friends

If you wanted to get into star wars maybe read of the books first or a comic. Maybe watch one of the TV shows.

I think the best part of star wars exist outsides the movies so don’t watch them first. A lot of fans now a days are diasiluusioned to the many flaws present in the original trilogies that are all movies George Lucas has produced. He’s a creature of habit
