Behavior Towards compromised units

Un-compromised units will prioritize compromised units over players, attempting to halt the spread of the husk like aberrations. DO NOT mistake this as them being passive, as their bullets will still hurt you and they will try to kill you once all infected units in the area are cleared.

Compromised CT-25 Unit

  • HP: 2,500
  • DEF: 5
  • EXP: 900
  • Immune to slow
  • Immune to Weak
  • Immune to stasis

  • Damage: 80
  • Speed: 5
  • Range: 10

Behavior

CT-25 will barrage players and un compromised unites with shots of 3 essence bolts, though at a slow rate. CT-25 does however have a speed advantage, being able to quickly dodge bullets and in general be annoying.

Compromised DP-35 Unit

  • HP: 3500

Compromised CT-55 Quarantine Drone

  • Immune to Dazed

Attacks

  • Damage: 75
  • Speed: 4
  • Range: 8
  • Condition Effect: Sick for 3 seconds

Behavior

Compromised Quarantine Drones will usually travel is small groups of 3 and swarm targets. on their own however, they are disorganized and will miss most shots.

General Compromised Unit Behavior

Compromised units will not wander around for long if nothing is in range, instead they will simply go into a corpse like state. However, they are quite relentless with their targets and will throw any form of strategy and care very little for their own lives. they will also attack un-compromised units, making the battle field very messy and dangerous for rushing.

HP-1 Potion Dispenser

  • Friendly
  • Marked Pink on The Map
  • Invincible
  • Stationary
  • Immune to all debuffs
  • Can not attack
  • Dispenses consumable mp and hp potions to players.

HP-2 Purification Dispenser

  • Friendly
  • Marked Pink on The Map
  • Invincible
  • Stationary
  • Immune to all debuffs
  • Can not attack
  • Cures all debuffs on players in a 6 tile radius
  • Deals 150 piercing damage to compromised units in a 6 tile radius

That’s all for part one of this, part two will be about the layout and explaining the main goal of this portion of the dungeon

#24

Part two of the Monolith: Clean Up and Recycling

The Monolith: Clean up and Recycling

Layout

Players will spawn in the center of a giant circular chamber and must activate 4 switches (colored in ark yellow) to open the northern door (colored in dark yellow). There is acid tiles (colored in lime green) littered around the switches that deal 35 damage per second if you step in them.

Compromised and un-Compromised units will be randomly placed in the pathways to activate the switches, which will of course makes navigating and potential rushing a cluster fuck.

Upon spawning, A.S.S will announce one of its final warnings in the dungeon.

Taunt: “BREACH DECTECTED IN CONTROL ROOM, ALL UNITS PLEASE EXCERIS-E-EAAAAAAAAA”

[ A.S.S is mega deddo now :((( ]

Pretty much just the very first part of the dungeon on a larger scale. Just activate all the switches and go back to the main room and go to fight the boss. Optionally, you can clear all compromised units in the dungeon, which would result in the boss becoming debuffed and easier to defeat.

Path to boss

Once all switches have been activated (and optionally all compromised units were slain) the yellow door north of spawn will open and the boss will be available.

That’s about it for part 2, I’m experimenting with making the layout portion it’s own post, mainly to stop cluttering and all that. Part 3 will be up in around 50 years.

Boss

(what the hell have I created :latin_cross::raised_hand::cold_sweat:)

Scrap Heap

  • HP: 75,000
  • DEF: 10
  • EXP: 15,000
  • Immune to Daze
  • Immune to stun
  • Immune to Stasis

Attacks

Giant Essence Star

  • Damage: 200

  • Range: 30
  • Condition Effect: Sick for 8 seconds

  • Damage: 85
  • Speed: 5
  • Range: 8

  • Damage: 55
  • Speed: 3
  • Range: 10

Behavior

Once you enter the large rectangular room, Scrap heap will wait 5 seconds before starting the battle. “A.S.S” will also taunt before the battle begins.

Taunt: " Ah, so you’re the ‘heroes’ that defeated my acolyte DP-127. No matter, I’ve revived him with some of the spare parts on this wing, though he does look a little agonized doesn’t he?"

First Phase 100% HP

Taunt: “P-P–AAAAIIN”

Scrap heap begins the phase with shooting essence daggers at the farthest players while wandering at sporadic but slow speed. It will periodically shoot 3 essence bolts at the closest players during this phase.

Second Phase 50% HP

“A.S.S” Taunt: " ha HA. Come now DP-127, don’t tell me you’re giving up already? the fight just started."

Taunt: “zzrtttt- zt”

Scrap Heap stops moving and will fire Giant Essence stars in a circular pattern and will be vulnerable during this. Scrap heap will also glow purple before he launches shockwaves of essence bolts and daggers which can be fatal if players are too close to him. This will continue until death

Death

Upon dying, “A.S.S” will announce this:

Taunt: “HA HA-HHH- A. ha- apologies- haha, I knew you’d be able to defeat him, I just wanted to see him squirm before his existence was snuffed out.”

Taunt: “I thank you for the laugh. But you will not be able to easily defeat me, ‘heroes’.”

Taunt: “So come down to the testing wing, if you have the stones that is.”

After around 10 seconds, the doors north of the boss room will open and lead to the elevator room.

Behavior

Once the door opens up to the pink area, Garvol and YL-4 will be waiting for you. they’ll also have a one sided conversation with you before opening the portal to the testing wing

YL-4: "You brought the fleshlings to help us!? Do you realize how many fatalities they’ve caused?

Garvol: “The word you’re looking for humans, my good friend. And yes, I do know the exact number, but we have little choice I’m afraid.”

Garvol: “If that nasty fellow is allowed to escape, it won’t stop at the shores of the realm. We’ll have a lot more than a few hundred bodies to worry about then.”

YL-4: “…”

YL-4: “Fine, but on one exception.”

YL-4: “you ‘heroes’ need to help cleanse the testing wing of all the compromised units, as we’ll need the full strength of whatever operational units are left in storage.”

YL-4: “And do not hesitate to slay them, whatever sentience they held in their coding has long been expunged, they are merely corpse puppets used by that thing now.”

YL-4: “The automated security system will also have to be dealt with, once the path is clear of compromised units.”

Garvol: “Good luck then heroes, and happy hunting!”

The testing wing portal will appear, Garvol and YL-4 will proceed to enter it, leaving you to continue onwards.

That’s about it for the Clean up and recycling ward, a little bit on the short side, but mainly for balancing reasons.

#27

Layout

Players spawn in the bottom center of the map, and will need to clear the rooms of all compromised units in the area. Un compromised units will also spawn in the starting room to accompany players through the dungeon, but also can be found while clearing.

“A.S.S” Will comment on the players’ appearance this far into the dungeon.

Taunt: “So eager to meet your demise, like a moth to the flame.”

Path to Boss

Once all rooms have been cleared of compromised units, the door to the giant chamber (colored in dark red) will open. It’s wise to stock up on hp/mp pots at this point so you don’t get mega deddo.

Working on part three so expect it to be ready in about 86 days I guess.

First Phase 100% HP

Taunt: “When I’m finished with you, you’ll wish this ‘void entity’ had taken your soul before me!”

“A.S.S” starts the fight by firing essence blasts constantly in cross pattern, rotating around in a full 360 degree angle, it will repeat this until it changes phases. Giant essence stars will be fired every 10 seconds as well.

Second Phase 75% HP

Taunt: “I was a result of testing by these soulless automatons, yet you attempt to destroy me, ironic.”

Fourth Phase 25% HP

Taunt: “Destroying this vessel will do nothing but bring you closer to oblivion.”

More Pure essence will flood the area, exterminator droids will be spawned to assist players. “A.S.S” begins moving in a sporadic and fast pace, circling the edge of the battle area for 10 seconds and then the center for 5 seconds. “A.S.S” spews shockwaves of essence bolts and daggers at the closest player.

One of the rods attached to the compromised Security System. The Pure evil emanating from it isn’t of the void entity, but of something more malignant. Whatever properties it holds are neither good for the target nor the user.

all that stands between you and the final boss of the monolith is a burnt metal wall. upon spawning, garvol and YL will fill you in on the plan.

Garvol: “Glad to see you made it heroes, fortunately while you were hacking away at those fellows upstairs, we were able to perfect out plan to get rid of that monster once and for all.”

YL-4: “The magika we’ve refined will grant you enough power to slay the calamity, but at a price.”

YL-4: “Our device requires a long wound up, and large amounts of energy. So you’ll have to stall the calamity until it’s charged.”

YL-4: “If this fails, then all of the realm will be lost.”

Garvol: “No pressure on you though my fine fellows, just think of it like squashing cubes, who’re trying to consume your soul.”

The door will open, and allow for the final encounter in the monolith. Allied units will spawn within the boss room, so theres that aswell.

Part 3 coming soon :3

Bro this dungeon is cool but i think its a little longer than the average realm players attention span. By the time they get to the end, everyone would have died or nexused and the few people who make it prob would be pretty tired. Ur floor maps remind me of LH although the idea of allies is something interesting to explore. Also, the idea of having secondary passive effects on non ability items is cool but the balancing is going to have to be good. Either way, focus on the dungeon before the loot. You’ve got some good stuff here, keep it coming and maybe DECA might contact u…

This is my feedback:

Dungeon design: I would wager this content would be irrelevant to the vast majority of players. Deeper parts would be inaccessible to some portion of those who would want it by causing too many clients to crash before finishing if encountered naturally or to those using a computer that is low on accessible memory.
The aesthetic you are going for is alright, but contrasts really hard against everything else that exists in the game, barring the most recent april fools dungeon, which should not be taken seriously. You may say there is no harm in adding one dungeon that clashes like this, but it is a very slippery slope.

Drops: Absolutely horrifically poorly balanced.
Orb: Solo perma daze: no, never. Solo perma daze in a 3 tile radius: are you shitposting me?
Speedy armor: every melee getting free perma speedy? Not horrific or gamebreaking, still a bad idea.
Scythe katana: not even busted. Kudos.
UT Seal: if this were introduced right now it would be the most overpowered single item in the game, easy-- the degree to which would depend on the magnitude of the “DEX” bonus provided.
Assuming this behaves in the way temporary dex boosts already do and you are not planning a rework of a fundamental game mechanic that has never changed, having multiple paladins with this seal spamming a DPS boost to the entire group that stacks with 1) itself 2) effusions 3) damaging 4) berserk while also providing perma armor and healing to the paladin using it is actually, unironically, the most broken item proposal I have heard in a long long time.
Robe: not broken, but definitely a top-shelf robe and makes many others irrelevant by a large margin. Again, power creep warning.
Prism: busted enough to make solo trick the highest DPS functional solo class in the game with exception of an optimal set warrior getting the curse bee, while already being the best rusher. The degree to which this is broken depends, again, on the magnitude of the dex bonus, but it’s still broken.

That is all

Behavior

Upon encountering Lokrith, he will taunt and wait 5 seconds before starting the battle.

Taunt: “Should’ve fled when you had the chance.”

First Portion

First Phase 100% HP

Taunt: “No matter, your world will be consumed in due time.”

Pure essences will spawn around the battle around, along with your allied units until the 2nd portion of the fight. Lokrith will shotgun a 90 degree direction with essence lasers, obliterating anything that stands in that cone of damage. he will keep switching directions every 4 seconds until the phase is over.

Second Phase 90% HP

Taunt: “‘Heroes’, you fail to understand the divine nature of our conquest. You’ll see in time, once your souls are tortured for all eternity.”

Lokrith sends shockwaves of essence bolts and essence stars in all directions for 10 seconds, then leaving himself vunerable for an additional 10 seconds. he will switch from this to circling the center of the room while spewing essence blasts at the closest player.

Third Phase 75% HP

Taunt: “You think you can kill me? FOOLS, I am eternal!”

Lokrith snaps to the center of the room and unleashes 2 circling lines of essence lasers, which overlap every 180 degrees. he will stop firing after 2 successful cycles of this and spew more essence stars before repeating the first action.

Fourth Phase 50% HP

Taunt: “This has been fun ‘heroes’, but our little game is at it’s end.”

Lokrith begins shooting rows after rows of essence lasers slowly going to a near full circle, leaving only about a 45 degree cone of space at the bottom of the battle area for players. there is no way to survive outside this cone, and will result in death or nexussing of players who fail to go to the safe spot. Lokrith will taunt again, mocking the players, before firing a straight line of essence stars that cover the 45 degree cone.

Taunt: “Goodbye.”

YL-4 will appear from nowhere (Like a ninjer) and absorb the stars, resulting in near fatal damage for the drone. It will taunt one last time before dying and releasing the magika for the players.

Taunt: “ZRrt-T. Heroes, do not let my sacrifice for you be for nought.”

Taunt: “Hah-ha…”

Garvol and YL-4’s magika buff will spread cover the entire arena, giving players invulnerable, all stat ups, beserk, curing them of any debuffs they had, and damaging for 10 minutes. from this point, portion 2 begins and it’s all about killing Lokrith before the buff runs out and your group wipes.

Portion 2

Fifth Phase: 50% HP

Taunt: “Cute, but whatever that fool did won’t save you”

Lokrith unleashes his portion 2 essence stars in a full circle on top of essence lasers being shot in a cross pattern, since players have the magika buff, this will only do status effects.

Sixth Phase 40% HP

Taunt: “mgahoth!? YOU SHOULD BE DISINTIGRATED CORPSES BY NOW.”
(Impossible!?)

Lokrith pulls out any stops that are in place and unleashes volley after volley of all his attacks in random formations. Essence stars will be targeted at the closest player, essence missiles at the farthest players, essence lasers in a cross to X formation and essence blasts in a full circle.

Seventh Phase 25% HP

Taunt: “NO NO NO NO NO! I WAS SUPPOSED TO WIN! I WAS BLESSED BY LAROS HIMSELF!”

Taunt: “YOU COSMIC SPECKS ARE NOTHING COMPARED TO MY POWER, SO HOW ARE YOU WINNING!?”

Lokrith changes up the patterns to the opposite of what they were In the sixth phase.

Eigth Phase 10% HP

Taunt: “ah’n’gha ya ephaiuh’eor mgulnah ya l’ mgepog fhtagn, Y’ ephainogephaii!”
(killing me will only send me to a deep sleep, I will return!)

Lokrith just spazzes out this phase until death, spewing out essence stars and everything he has in a circling motion. After his death, a portal to the realm will spawn, along with a portal to Absolute Nothingness, north of the realm portal.

Absolute Nothingness (optional) 50% drop chance

Untiered Drop HEHE

Core of Lokrith

The remains of Lokrith, the ascended one. The power emanating from is remains doesn’t feel of the void, but something far more malignant. The bearer will absorb the power of the essence, but at a terrible cost.

  • Tier: UT
  • Stat Bonus: +12 ATT, +12 DEF, +12 DEX, +12 SPD, +12 WIS, +12 VIT, +60 HP, +100 MP
  • Special Properties: If the user does not kill an enemy within 10 seconds while wearing the ring, the user will become sickened, and will bleed continuously until death. Taking off the ring will result in being quieted, pet stasissed, and slowed for 10 seconds, all of these debuffs cannot be removed or cured. Killing enemies will remove the sick and bleed debuff.
  • Fame Bonus: 7
  • Feed Power: 1,500

And that’s it for the Monolith! I’ll post one more thing about the optional dungeon and that’ll be it. I’ll be responding to comments about the dungeon now so let it out I guess.

I don’t see what’s wrong with the daze effect tbh, but I do agree with the perma part, I’ll add in a cooldown for it, along with similar abilities.

Eh, I can add a few debuffs to the effect or the armor.

Thanks! I have a weird habit of making almost everything broken, but only 1-2 things are balanced lol.

It would only really offer either +5 or +6 DEX, more leaning on the +5 DEX tbh.

Yeah… That’s because I forgot Again to add cooldowns to my abilities, the spur of the moment and all that jazz. Also, the effect wouldn’t stack with effusions, so using it would only grant the healing and armored. As for what the cooldown would be, it’d be probably 8-10 seconds to prevent the stuff you stated above.

I may or may not debuff it when I go through my rewriting of this mammoth of a thread. I’ll wait to see what everyone else has to say first.

Dex bonus is the same as seal, it’d also again have a cooldown. I’ll agree with you how broken it is though lol, I’ll have to downscale the buffs and increase the mp cost.

Yeah, looking back on some of the maps there is some fat that could be clipped off (I could even possibly merge a few of the floors together to make it over all more concise and easier to run). The last thing I wanna make is LH 4.5, so I’ll see what I can do once I’m done with the final final piece of dungeon content.

Edit: Final ESSENTIAL piece of content is finished.

As always, thanks for the feedback

Alright bois, this is it, the moment you all waited for…

THE MEME PART :eggplant:

Absolute Nothingness

Layout

A small rock island in the middle of a sea of pure evil, HD-98 will be waiting at the center of it all.

Boss

HD-98

  • HP: 500,000
  • DEF: 0
  • EXP: 0
  • Immune to stasis

Behavior

Upon encountering HD-98 he will taunt Three times before being vulnerable for attack.

Taunt: “Oh, I didn’t expect visitors! You don’t know how long I’ve been on this island for. I mean, I did deserve it partially for unleashing Lokrith for my own gain-”
Taunt: “Oops, I shouldn’t have said that.”
Taunt: “Bleep!”

HD-98 will spaz around until death.

Untiered Drop HEHE

Automatic Arrow Firing Mechanism

A futuristic weapon forged from steel and fitted with oddly shaped arrows. Said to have been created by the most idiotic of monolith staff.

( This is a “Balanced” Version of the beach spider rifle from my highlands thread if you didn’t know xd)

Shots

image

Stats:

  • Tier: UT
  • Range: 20
  • Shots: 1
  • Amplitude: 0.72tiles
  • Frequency: 0.29 cycles shot
  • Projectile Speed: 30
  • FireRate: 500%
  • Damage: 10-20 (average: 15)
  • Special properties: Shots pass through enemies
  • Fame Bonus: 1
  • Feed Power: 200

I can die in piece now, knowing I made a shitty self insert of myself that gets utterly D E S T R O Y E D.

And that’s actually it for The Monolith!

Tbh though I’m probably gonna consider not making dungeon ideas that often cuz this took 2 months to come up with and the dungeon postings are literally half of the fucking replies :sob:

(It’s 17 posts out of 35 posts if you don’t wanna count them)

#37

Alrighty friendos, I’m gonna be fixing up this WIP and then finalizing it over the weekend, so yeah. Thanks for the feedback so far and hopefully it’ll turn out really well

I never was a fan of “special effect” rings
