Which Magic Gem reward will you take? (poll)
I got an item that wiki say is TBA

So the Magic Gems quest can’t be completed until Week 3 (unless there’s another source for Gems 2 and 3), but it’s published early so we know what it is.

Seems like it’ll be a good ‘default’ tome for non-specialised use.

tl;dr for week 1:
Mark of SthenoMark of ThessalMark of Dr TerribleMark of Davy Jones

Copied from an edit to:

tl;dr for week 2:
Mark of the Puppet MasterMark of Parasitic HorrorMark of SeptaviusMark of the Forgotten King

The week 1 marks quests are still live, it’s only changed so the reward is now just the Amethyst Gem, no bonus chests, meaning the UT can still be earned even if you are starting the event late.

Yeah, probs gonna pass on the whole thing altogether then…

Ah well, at least I got some pots from quest chests from it. Think I’ve gotten one Forgotten King mark ever, not sure when. I know how to do Shatts, with only 1 per Realm and 90% of them ruined by people fucking them up, whether deliberately or inadvertently, it’s not even worth trying.

I joined the crowds in USS for Shatters, and a couple in USE3 maybe one in USSW when the other nexuses were full.
Did 8 so far, all pubs from nexus, here is my tracker that I used to count them off…

…tells its own story with how many fail, dunno why but people just seem to leave their brain behind with how they run them – not all even in the first part, at least two fails were from everyone trying to rush the final bridge, and all nexusing, not worth trying to solo clear all that so I nexused too.

I find it bizarre that anyone would pay for this experience via keys but I guess “thanks” to those who did. :man_shrugging:

It’s the nature of the game; there are always newbies doing one of their first Shatts. There’s a small number of outright trolls, out to ruin other people’s experience of the game. A larger number of people who just seem not to care, and charge in without thinking.

It’s even clearer with one of the other dungeons that’s easy to disrupt, pub Crawling Depths. I find now if there’s more than 2 people in there the boss almost always get triggered. Whether through ignorance, deliberate disruption or simply not caring, And there are normally far more people in a Shatters; probably not many newbies but it probably attracts disruptive players even more.

I should add, that one underlying problem with Shatters is the lack of teleport. Most dungeons you can teleport, and this means they can be played a variety of ways. People can clear or rush. When the boss is found then everyone can teleport. This works even in dungeons with complex layouts, like the Tomb and Library.

Without teleport then things break down as players that can’t rush get left behind by rushers. It happens in Lost Halls, but is especially bad in Shatters as rushing can activate enemies which are then far worse for anyone following behind, while there’s no point clearing as the way gets closed off if you take too long.

This used to be a problem in Oryx’s Castle and the Wine Cellar, but they were changed to counter it. Oryx’s Castle got walls with massive HP that hold everyone up. In the Wine Cellar O2 now has HP scaling and new modes so he is no longer steamrollered by rushers before latecomers arrive.

I suppose it’s the same root cause as many problems: too many players with cheats letting them play hypercareless, and the support of too-strong pets exacerbating it.

updated with new stuff

and the tl;dr for week 3 is:
Gulphord markMalphas markRuthven markGeb mark

Easiest of the 3 weeks IMO, so a nice end to it rather than something frustrating/tough.
