Though it does 340-390 damage, the sword only has a rate of fire of 60%, resulting in lower DPS (damage per second) than some other rare or high tier swords. It is best used in dungeons where monsters are killed in just 1 shot and in boss fights where you are usually weakened; the longer range of 4 blocks makes this a bit more helpful. This sword bears the unfortunate, yet humorous, acronym “A.S.S.”
Some may believe the sword itself is completely useless. However, its 60% fire rate is not as substantial a drop as the Doom Bow. It’s arguably a match for the Crystal Sword, as its DPS is slightly superior at the cost of inferior range (which is still better than tiered swords). In addition enemy defense is in effect decreased because of the lower rate of fire. The sword is usually best with the warrior, since his berserk boost can compensate the loss of firing rate.
This sword is also great to use in the Tomb of the Ancients because not only does each shot deal great damage to get your soulbound damage in quickly, but the increased range also makes it a lot safer to use during the trickier phases of the bosses where there are a lot of shots at once. However during FFA tombs which are much more dangerous, it might be safer to use the more common Crystal Sword to avoid losing such a rare item.
