The Conducting Wand is a powerful wand. Its sheer attack speed compensates for its lower base damage compared to the Wand of Recompense or the Wand of Ancient Warning. It shines when tackling boss enemies of low to moderate defense(up to 58 defense), and its wisdom boost will prove to be marginally useful on the Priest class, who’s ability becomes stronger relative to the amount of wisdom the class possesses.

For enemies or bosses that are high in defense(about 44 defense or more), the Crystal Wand is more preferable.

However, after the patch of 25.0.0, the Conducting Wand (as well as the Crystal Wand) have become significantly less useful. Even though the DPS of the Conducting Wand is greater than Recomp’s from below about 62 def and greater than Cwand’s at below about 47 def, the greatest inhibiting factor of the Conduct, as well as the Cwand, are their lack of piercing. On sole enemies, yes, their DPS is greater than Recomp at certain percents. But, Recomp can pierce, and does not have that much less DPS at those certain defense levels. What kills a group of gods faster, a slightly-higher damaging wand, or a slightly-less damaging wand that can pierce? How often is one attacking one sole enemy without any other enemies? Conduct does a tad more DPS to a boss with less than about 62 defense, but these bosses more than not have minions or other objects blocking consistent shots from a Conduct since the Conduct does not pierce.

For example, technically, the Conduct does more DPS on a Cube God than a Recomp (with a Cube God having 40 def). However, surrounding the Cube God are dozens and dozens of smaller minion cubes, constantly circling. A Recomp would not have to worry about the minions, and damage the boss with only a deficit (from the Conduct) of 60 DPS.

Another example would be Oryx the Mad God. Even though, the Conduct and the Crystal Wand would do more damage to Oryx, having 60 defense, Oryx surrounds himself with minions in the first phase, and has invulnerable blue Guardian Elements in a later stage that surround Oryx and also inhibit non-piercing shots. If you were to carry all three wands with you, and use the Conduct and Cwand in those specific moments where Oryx is not surrounded by minions (though this depends on how many people are fighting Oryx), you would only achieve about 3 more DPS (than a Recomp) with Conduct, and about 100 more with Cwand.

If one is to use a Conduct or a Cwand, one must ask themselves if they are willing to carry another two wands in their inventory just for the sake of doing slightly more damage per second at specific intervals.

I recommend to try each of these wands out in all situations, and see which wands one prefers to carry with them.
