Corruption can be found in the setpiece the Avatar of the Forgotten King spawns on, The Void, and The Shatters. There are four pools of Corruption in the corners of the square setpiece in which The Avatar of the Forgotten King spawns. Deadly Blobombs spawn from these pools partway during the fight against the Avatar. In the Void, Corruption will slowly consume the arena during the fight with the Void Entity, and will partition the arena into two, and later four sections during the battle. In The Shatters, a sea of Corruption can be found surrounding the Derelict Village and Great Bridge areas, and it also forms moats along the perimeter of the Grand Hall and Throne Room areas.
Corruption does 75 armor piercing damage and damages you repeately when you stand in Corruption which gradually decreases your health and can cause death if you stand in it long enough. Corruption dramatically slows movement speed down, reducing your speed by roughly 66.7% when you walk in it, which allows a good amount of time for the Corruption to cause a great amount of damage to a character escaping from a pool of Corruption.
In The Void, Corruption tiles farther away from the arena will do more damage (90 and 115 compared to the normal 75 damage). This is to prevent players from essentially skipping the Void Entity battle by moving far away from the arena and using healing classes and pets for survivability.
Before Exalt Version 2.0.2.0 (Aug 2021), Corruption was called Pure Evil and used the sprite currently found in The Void for all of it’s appearances.
