Part of the Nordic Knight Set.
This weapon is interesting in that it allows melees to leave behind projectiles, which can be handy in situations that are difficult to approach for damage. The DPS of the Battle Axe is not particulary great, but it should be noted that the lingering projectiles can be used on predictable boss paths that melees should not get close to or simply dragging rage phase bosses into the line of projectiles, extending the effective range of the sword.
