Dancer Miko

Dancer Miko is one of the three bosses of the Moonlight Village.

The Realm Eye says:
One of the original students of the danmaku dance, Miko is a powerful spirit who can channel the energy of nature.
This connection with nature brings a sense of fresh effervescence to all of her performances.
She performs every night at her village’s festival in order to appease the spirits that gather there.

Behavior

Miko, along with Sage Genji and Drummer Kaguya, will be found in the main area of the Moonlight Village. Once approached, she and the other dancers will provide some dialogue before teleporting all players to the arena and starting the fight.
“The graceful dance of our patron god…”
“Witness our form! Witness our grace! Witness the beauty, of the Moonlight Dance!”

The three dancers will attack one at a time in a random order. Depending on when Miko attacks, her behavior will be different.

  • If she is the first dancer, she will perform one Damage phase and one Danmaku phase.
  • If she is the second dancer, she will perform two sets of Damage and Danmaku phases for a total of 4 phases. Any dancers that previously attacked will start to support her.
  • If she is the last dancer, she will perform two sets of Damage and Danmaku phases, followed by her Last Word at the very end of the fight.
  • On Leisurely mode, she will only use one Damage phase and one Danmaku Phase regardless of her position, followed by the Last Word if she was the last dancer.

See the Boss Phases section of the main page for more info on the dancers’ battle structure.

Damage Phases

During these phases, Miko will be Gold Four Pointed Star Armor Broken and must be damaged to accelerate the phase. In each one, Miko will use one standard attack at random, coupled with a random secondary attack to supplement it. She will never use the same attack more than once.

If a dancer was defeated before Miko, they will periodically cross the arena during these attacks, firing bullets to aid Miko. During all the attacks except for Nature’s Cycle, green leaves will seal off the corners of the arena.

Youthful Spring

Miko summons a flower in the middle of the arena that fires a radial barrage of flower petals. Miko herself will circle around the arena, firing 2-way spreads of purple leaves and leaving behind a trail of stationary petals that accelerate outwards after a delay.

Falling Petals

Miko summons a continuous alternating rain of flowers from the top of the arena, which leave behind trails of lingering petals. Miko herself will follow players, leaving behind a flurry of flower petals and periodically firing a ring of telegraphed flowers outwards.

Floral Burst

After marking their locations with warning signs, Miko creates a four-pointed star of flower petals that rotates around her, along with four more arrowheads at the edge of the arena which rotate in the opposite direction. She will remain still in the middle of the arena, periodically firing another set of shots when the old ones expire.

Nature’s Cycle

Miko traps players between two concentric rings of flower petals: a small one in the middle of the arena, and a larger one around the edges whose shots gradually accelerate outwards. Miko will circle around the arena while following the outer ring, firing rings of wavy flowers.

Wonderous Blossom

Miko stays in the center of the arena and shoots rings of decelerating petals that form a spiral pattern, along with 2-way spreads of purple leaves.

Secondary Attacks
  • Cursing leaves fired from the arena borders which abruptly change direction when getting close to the center.
  • Spreads of Sickening leaves fired from the corners of the arena.
  • Bursts of flower shurikens fired from the corners of the arena.
  • A converging spiral of Slowing pink petals.
  • Several pink flowers that rotate around the arena, periodically firing rings of Cursing purple leaves.

Danmaku Phases

During these phases, players cannot harm Miko and must stay close to the Lantern in the arena to speed up the phase. Players will be inflicted with Skull Sick and Empty Potion Bottle Drought for the duration of the phase, but will also be given 3 seconds of Red Cross Healing and Blue Cross Energized at the end of it.

Vestiges of Bygone Seasons

Miko begins circling around the room, leaving behind a trail of stationary petals and periodically firing rapid shotguns of purple leaves at the nearest player. At the same time, a randomized rain of leaves, petals, and shuriken flowers will fall down from the top of the arena.

The Lantern will be in the center of the arena.

Beauty is Solitary

Miko remains in the center of the room, seals off the corners with walls of leaves, and then starts firing a dense spiral of curving petals that form a dense, criss-crossing pattern. At the same time, a spiral of slow spears will start firing from the edges of the arena, converging on the center of the room.

The Lantern rotates clockwise around the arena.

Life’s Everlasting Bloom

Miko spins in the center of the arena while firing rings of petal shots. Three flowers rotate clockwise around her, maintaining converging rings of shots around themselves, while three more rotate counterclockwise further away. Spreads of leaves will periodically fire from the corners of the arena, telegraphed by warning symbols.

The Lantern rotates clockwise around the edge of the room.

Last Word ~ Petals Carried by the Wind

Miko’s final attack progresses through four stages as it nears completion. For the duration of the Last Word, all players will be inflicted with Pet Stasis Pet Stasis, Silenced Silenced, Skull Sick, Empty Potion Bottle Drought, and In Combat.

  • Gentle: Miko remains in the center of the room and pulses short-ranged rings of petals. As walls of spears seal off the edges of the arena, four flowers spawn in the arena corners, firing dense rings of shots.
  • Moderate: Miko begins firing 3-way shotguns of leaves.
  • Intense: The corner flowers start sequentially firing slow, dense spreads of petals that completely cover the quadrant of the map occupied by the respective flower. The first flower to fire is random, but the sequence of flowers will always be clockwise.
  • Climax: The fire rate of all attacks significantly increases.

The Lantern rotates clockwise around the room.

Battle Dialogue

First Dancer
  • (start) “Our guests seem weary of the troubles behind them. Perhaps a display of natural elegance shall entertain them?”
  • (first Danmaku) “The spirits are reacting well with your movement.”
“Focus and remain at peace, for the danmaku dance shall begin.”
  • (end) “Our time together will close soon. Fear not, for this is just the opening act.”
Second Dancer
  • (start, generic) “What a marvelous performance so far! I hope my dance will be just as enjoyable.”
  • (start, Kaguya defeated) “Kaguya has been honing her dance over time, but so have I!”
“Were you captivated by Kaguya’s drum performance? I hope mine will prove adequate.”
  • (start, Genji defeated) “Genji has been honing his dance over time, but so have I!”
“Did you enjoy Genji’s performance? I hope mine will prove adequate.”
  • (last Danmaku) “My role in the festival will soon finish. My wish is that you were inspired by my dance.”
  • (end) “You have made it to the final act, but it shall be the most demanding yet!”
Third Dancer
  • (start) “I am honored to be the final dancer. May my dance please the spirits that have gathered here tonight.
  • (last Danmaku) “You have my praise for making it this far.”
  • (Last Word) “My final dance will now bring this festival to a close!”
“By the grace of our patron goddess…”
“Let us begin the final dance!”

Defeat and Aftermath

“Thank you all for coming tonight.”

Once the three dancers are all defeated, all the gathered spirits will converge into a loot bag, and the dancers will take their leave. If Miko was the final dancer and Leisurely mode was not activated, she will grant players an Attack Exaltation upon defeat.

After the battle, Miko can be found in the main path of the dungeon, where she can be talked to.
“It is unusual for spirits to be able to talk. If you may, I would like to converse for a moment.

Players can also prompt additional dialogue if they ask Miko about specific topics.
