Dimitus

Last updated: Exalt Version 2.2.4.0 (Mar 2022)
Dimitus

Dimitus is a special enemy that only appears in dungeons if the Dimitus dungeon modifier is active, or during events. The dungeon version has two seperate forms depending on the difficulty of the dungeon.

The “event version” is the only non-stationary and shooting enemy that does not have a regular drop table, as it changes depending on the event, similar to the Event Chest.

Difficulties

Easy:
Dimitus’ weaker form. Compared to its regular form, it deals much less damage across the board, and has significantly less health, making it a suitable challenge for an earlygame player.

The following dungeons will have Dimitus appear in its Easy difficulty:

  • Pirate Cave
  • Forest Maze
  • Spider Den
  • Forbidden Jungle
  • The Hive

Regular:
Dimitus’ usual form. It can spawn in any dungeon other than the ones listed above, and therefore poses a greater threat, with more damage, health, and defense. Regardless, its general passivity

Behavior

Dimitus starts out invulnerable and stationary. After a short while, it will start slowly flashing green, then yellow at a greater frequency, and finally, red rapidly before transitioning into its attack phase.

In its attack phase, it either wanders around or rotates around its spawn position.
It randomly picks a “Status” and “Damage” attack from the following list:

Status attacks:

  • A wide, aimed 3-shot Bleeding attack
  • A wide, aimed 3-shot Slow attack
  • A wide, aimed 3-shot Silence attack
  • An aimed 2-shot Paralyze attack
  • A radial, aimed 5-shot Weak attack
  • A radial, aimed 5-shot Daze attack

Damage attacks:

  • A somewhat wide, aimed 5-shot White Flame attack
  • A tight, aimed 2-shot White Flame attack
  • 4 White Flames, in an alternating cross pattern
  • Two grenades, one aimed at the nearest player, and one aimed 180° away from them
  • 4 White Superblasts, in a cross pattern
  • 3 rotating tentacles of White Superblasts

Tips and Strategies

Dimitus is a rather novel challenge for most players once maxed, but may pose a more serious threat to those with lower survivability and firepower. Considering it can spawn in a massive variety of dungeons, there are generally many ways to play around Dimitus: close-range cover such as in the Snake Pit can be a useful tool.

Observing which attack patterns it picks is key in dealing with Dimitus, though most of its attacks are aimed, meaning a circling strategy is universally effective. Its lack of actively chasing after players also makes it extremely easy to simply retreat and recover before resuming your assault.
