The Helm of the Juggernaut is a very powerful (and very rare) alternative to the Helm of the Great General or other tiered helmets. Its main benefit is the addition of the Armored status effect, which temporarily doubles the defense of the Warrior. In most cases this will boost defense past 100, which allows the Warrior to eat a lot of bullets at no great risk. The Helm also gives Berserk, which is also found in every tiered helmet, and it only makes the juggernaut more potent.

The Helm of the Juggernaut is, however, less practical then the tiered helmet in a few instances. When rushing a dungeon or making your way across a realm towards a quest, it is often better to be speedy than it is to be armored. Additionally, against some gods or monsters with lower damage output your Defense stat should have already lowered their attacks to their minimum damage (15% of base damage), rendering the Armored status useless. In cases where speed can be a detriment, however–especially dangerous situations with high damage enemies or where one could accidentally run head-first into a boss, the Armored effect is preferable to Speedy.

It is important to keep in mind that using the Helm with heavy defense-boosting items such as the Candy-Coated Armor or Ring of Unbound Defense is not recommended, as the Defense stat will only reduce an enemy’s shots to 15% of their original damage. It thus makes more sense to prioritize equips that maximize health to use with the Juggernaut helm, such as the Breastplate of New Life, tiered health rings, and the Forgotten Crown.

A common technique used by many Warriors is to use the Speedy buff granted by the Helm of the Great General, but then to switch to the Helm of the Juggernaut to make use of the +5 SPD stat bonus, allowing the Warrior to move even more quickly.
