The fight with Heroic Septavius is a lot like the fight with normal Septavius. The boss is found in a circular room at the end of the Undead Lair. He will perform the following phases in order, advancing to the next phase when he loses enough HP. The amount of time for each of his phases gets lower as his HP decreases. He is invulnerable between phases, as well as for the first 8 seconds of the fight.
When first encountered, he will have a large group of various ghost minions surrounding him that will engage nearby players.
Orb Shotgun Phase:
Septavius first flashes and throws out 5 random ghost minions around him. He will then start firing fast White Orbs in a shotgun of three aimed at the nearest player. In this phase it is recommended to clear the minions while circling the boss.
Quiet and Confuse Phase:
Septavius fires out 4 Confuse stars aimed at each corner of the room while constantly firing oryx sprits that inflict Quiet. Septavius slowly wanders toward the closest player during this phase.
Be wary during this phase because the boss will change to the next phase without warning.
Spiraling Bullets Phase:
Septavius fires small armor piercing White Bullets in a three-armed spiral pattern that rotates clockwise while also firing out slow moving but powerful Large White Bullets aimed at the nearest player. You may fit into the space and circle him clockwise, to get in that much-coveted soulbound damage.
(At 65% health) Etheral and Confuse Star Storm Phase:
Septavius fires out 4 wavy streams of Etheral Missiles around him which will slowly rotate around him while firing out Confuse Stars in random bursts. During this phase, the boss will not move, so you can get in your soulbound damage from a safe distance if you are playing a ranged character.
(At 30% health) Spirit Stream Phase:
Septavius fires out 4 slow Large White Bullets which are followed by dense, 4-way streams of wavy light purple bullets. One of these bullets will always be aimed at the nearest player, and the streams will shift their positions to follow the bullets.
If not enough damage is dealt to him, he will then transition back to the Orb Shotgun phase and cycle through his phases again.
Spawns:
Despite packing much higher stats and more attacks, his fight is more or less the same as his weaker counterpart, and uses most of the same strategies. However, treat him with far more caution, as he’s far more threatening.
Do not ignore his minions. They now hit far harder and inflict numerous status effects, which can be devastating during the fight.
While his new phases look very confusing at first glance, it is perfectly possible to read the attack patterns. Spend a bit of time observing the boss from afar, then go in once you’ve got the patterns down.
