Behavior

Phase One
The Knight of Oryx stays still. Upon being approached and/or damaged, it will transition to Phase Two.

Phase Two
The Knight of Oryx lunges at the nearest player, then slowly approaches them while shooting 3-shot bursts of Swipe Spins that slow. This is probably the most well-known phase due to Knights of Oryx dying quickly in most realms.

After doing this for a few seconds, it may do this phase again or transition to Phase Three.

Phase Three
The Knight of Oryx will repeat his previous behavior, lunging at the nearest player then slowly approaching them. However, instead of 3-shot bursts, it will now shoot Black Blades in 4-shot shotguns towards the nearest player.

After doing this for a few seconds, it will stay still and transition to Phase Four.

Phase Four (Spawning Phase)
The Knight of Oryx remains still, creating several Oryx Bubbles around him and spawning 2-3 Pets of Oryx. He will also alternate between small black blasts in the cardinal directions and in the diagonal directions.

After doing this for a few seconds or so, he will transition back to Phase Two.

Tips and Strategies

Avoid the slowing shots, as it will make you open to whatever comes next. In some situations you can get “slow-locked” by a group of them. And avoid standing on top of him to avoid getting a massive shotgun.
