Maggot eggs give you xp when you break them, but spawned maggots and the bees that spawn from maggots don’t. If you end up breaking one of these accidentally/on purpose, it is extremely helpful to kill the maggots that spawned within 10 seconds, otherwise all the remaining maggots will turn into Fat Bees.
During the Hive boss fight, maggot eggs spawn frequently. If you want to clear the eggs, make sure that you kill the maggots quickly to ensure that no more Fat Bees spawn. If you don’t want to/don’t have a good weapon for this, you can simply ignore the eggs that spawn.
