How and why to find Malogia

How

Alien UFO
Outside of events, the Alien UFO has a rare chance of spawning after a Hero of Oryx is defeated. During events, however, it may be a guaranteed spawn per realm. Players will need to defeat enough of Commander Calbrik’s troops found in the Mountains in order to summon the UFO itself. When the aliens begin spawning, Calbrik says, “Atmosphere breach imminent, prepare all units to launch our next assault on this sector!” There are three distinct phases of the alien invasion before the UFO spawns, which are the following messages: “Inhabitants proven capable of retaliation! Send out the extermination units!”, “Surrender now or be faced with extreme prejudice!”, and “Deploy punisher units for full elination of life!” Shortly after the final warning appears, the UFO spawns with the message, “Fine, I’ll do it myself…” Once the UFO is defeated, portals of the four wormhole dungeons will appear throughout the realm, each with a different color on the map. In this case, the color of this wormhole is red, but it is not to be confused with the other quest markers. Its color is the shade of red that is on the portal itself.
Important note: The wormholes do not begin to disappear until approached by a player. Only then will they begin to count down like other dungeon portals.

Alien Biff

Alien Biff was another source of the wormhole dungeons. Appearing only once during an event, he spawned when all Cyclops Gods were killed in a realm, but he has not appeared again since. When defeated, he would drop a single wormhole of a random color.

Why

Stat Increase PotionsSun's JudgementAlien Core: PowerLarge Malogian ClothSmall Malogian Cloth

Featuring many minibosses all with chances to drop stat pots, the planet dungeons are great sources of them. Like the other planet dungeons, there are 3 reskins of various UT weapons to collect: Sun’s Judgement (Doom Bow), Fire Blade (Doku No Ken), and Comet of Calamity (Tezcacoatl’s Tail). Malogia’s alien core item is the Alien Core: Power, providing a massive bonus of 12 ATT and 12 DEX when alien gear is equipped and being capable of paralyzing nearby enemies when damaged. The final boss may also drop Malogian cloths.

Introduction

Shortly after the first player enters, the Satellite Core in the center of the arena will begin to spawn from UFOs at the cardinal directions from spawn. Shots will pass through enemies for a short time after they spawn and bosses are rendered Invulnerable. The dungeon is timed, which means efficiency is key to accessing later waves and more loot. It is highly recommended to drag all enemies so that they can be killed more quickly, though this may be overwhelming for weaker players. As more players join, the time limit linearly decreases down to a certain cap (minimum observed to be 60 seconds). The satellite will initally announce the time limit when a wave begins and every 30 seconds afterwards. Each succeeding wave has a greater time limit than the previous one. There are 3 main waves divided into 5 sub-waves, where the 5th sub-wave is the boss. They will be referred to as 1.1, 1.2, and so on. The dungeon ends early if the wave’s boss is not killed within the time limit and does not end if sub-waves are not cleared in time. However, if the whole dungeon is cleared under the time limit, the harmless Malogia Satellite Core will become vulnerable and can be destroyed for loot.

The only enemies that can drop loot are bosses and Neo aliens. It should be noted that Neo aliens spawn at the top of Wave 2.3, the top and bottom of Wave 2.4, the top of Wave 3.3, and the top and sides of Wave 3.4.

Malogia is a circular arena populated by trees and other small vegetation. The trees form an X shape about halfway from the circumference to the center. There is no threat presented by the plants, except making sure you do not get blocked by them.

Wave 1

Wave 1 has the weakest enemies and introduces the behaviors of the various enemy types.

The following enemies appear in Wave 1: Blorgling, Znorgling, Ptorgian, Blorgian, Neo Ptorgian

Blorgling

These are the first and weakest enemies found in the dungeon. They first spawn during Wave 1.1 and slowly follow the nearest player, shooting a single aimed projectile at them.

Znorgling

Znorgling
Around the same strength as the Blorgling, these enemies are only slightly different. Appearing during Wave 1.2, they slowly wander in place and attempt to shoot unaimed projectiles at the nearest player.

Ptorgian

Ptorgian
A relatively low threat. The Ptorgian appears on Wave 1.2 and slowly orbits the player, firing a spread of 4 low damage shots.

Blorgian

Blorgian
The Blorgian makes its first appearance during Wave 1.3. It is orbited by 2 Znorglings and fires 3 heavy hitting aimed shots in a line. Like its smaller counterpart, it also slowly follows the nearest player.

Wave 1 Boss: Neo Ptorgian

Neo Ptorgian
At Wave 1.5, this is the first Neo alien and boss in the dungeon. Like a normal Ptorgian, it slowly orbits the nearest player while firing a spread of 4 shots, except these ones hit much harder. Occasionally, it will become Armored and orbit the center while rapidly firing a dense ring of slow but slightly stronger shots. If it is too far from the center, it will stay in place instead.

To avoid being sat on, do not stand between the center of the arena and the Neo Ptorgian, as its radial attack is sure to severely damage or kill players hit by the majority of the shots.

If the Neo Ptorgian is defeated in time, players will advance to Wave 2. If it is not, a Realm Wormhole will appear in the center for players to return to the realm.

Wave 2

Wave 2 features stronger versions of enemies encountered in Wave 1, and introduces a new alien species.
The following enemies appear in Wave 2: Blorgling, Blorgian, Znorgling, Znorgian, Phorgling, Neo Ptorgian, Neo Znorgian

Znorgian

Znorgian
Similar to the Blorgian, this large alien spawns with 2 Znorglings beginning at Wave 2.1. It does not chase and wanders in place, first shooting a heavily damaging shot and following up with a barrage of weaker but still strong shots. It pauses for a short time in between attacks.

Phorgling

Phorgling
These small aliens appear during Wave 2.3. They are weak and slowly chase the nearest player with spread of 3 shots. However, their shots come with a twist: they inflict Unstable. Prioritize them or dodge their attacks to ensure they do not interfere with your DPS.

Wave 2 Boss: Neo Znorgian

Neo Znorgian
The Neo Znorgian is much more dangerous than the Neo Ptorgian, especially if approached improperly. It begins with a spread of 3 high damage shots at the nearest player and follows up with a barrage of 3-spread shots that inflict less damage but ignore defense. After a pause, it becomes Armored and shoots a ring of the same high damage shots and then a barrage of armor-piercing rings. It cycles between these two phases.

Because its 3-shot phase is unaimed, it can easily be avoided by circling. However, circling is the complete opposite way to avoid the ring phase. Because the shots are fast, it is very hard to avoid its ring burst, which can deal massive damage to all classes because of its armor piercing. It is highly advised to back off after it uses its single ring attack to avoid being caught in its ring burst.

Once the Neo Znorgian is defeated, the players will advance to Wave 3 if time still remained. If not, a Realm Wormhole will appear in the center for players to leave.

Wave 3

Wave 3 contains the strongest enemies found in the dungeon and the final boss itself. It also contains a bonus reward if cleared fast enough.

The following enemies appear in Wave 3: Blorgling, Blorgian, Blorgorm, Znorgling, Znorgian, Phorgling, Phorgian, Neo Ptorgian, Neo Znorgian, Suesogian

Blorgorm

Blorgorm
These quadrupedal aliens are much more aggressive than their Blorgian relatives and immediately appear during Wave 3.1. They will dash to a player’s location and stop for a short time before dashing again, all while firing 3 even stronger shots in a line.

Because their attacks are aimed and they constantly and quickly shift around the environment, Blorgorms can be tricky to dodge. Avoid staying around one spot and randomly move around to throw off their aim.

Phorgian

Phorgian
Large aliens orbited by 2 Phorglings that appear on Wave 3.2. They slowly follow the nearest player and fire a massive shotgun of stronger projectiles that inflict Unstable as well.

Circling around the Phorgian and its Phorglings will avoid most if not all of their shots. They should be prioritized or left unalerted so that they cannot inflict Unstable.

Final Boss: Suesogian

Suesogian
Note: The Suesogian spawns in the center of the map and does not move. It becomes Invulnerable after changing phase numbers.

Phase 1a:

The Suesogian targets the nearest player with spreads of red shots that deal high damage on its left side (right side of the screen) and spreads of purple armor piercing shots on its right (left side of the screen).

Depending on what class you are, it is better to rotate on one side rather than the other based on what projectile deals less damage to you if you happen to get hit. Armored classes should rotate counterclockwise towards the red projectiles while ranged classes should rotate clockwise towards the purple projectiles. Keeping too far will make it very difficult to avoid the Suesogian’s shots because of the uncentered nature of their origin.

Phase 1b:

The Suesogian uses the same projectiles as Phase 1a but instead it shoots around itself and does not target a specific player.

This phase change is very sudden and you must be quick to keep on its untargeted side to avoid taking massive damage. If done correctly, you will avoid all of its shots.

Phase 2:

Occurs when the Suesogian has about 66% HP remaining. It stops firing and starts throwing Malogia Boulders at players. Malogia Boulders are harmless on impact, but will explode shortly after landing into a ring of highly damaging shots. The Suesogian will throw exactly 5 boulders at players before throwing 2 rings of Malogia boulders that surround itself.

The single Malogia Boulders pose little threat. However, the rings of boulders either trap melee classes or zone ranged classes. It is difficult but possible to dodge the storm of shots that the boulders release if you are caught on the inside of the boulder ring.

Phase 3:

At around 33% HP, the Suesogian combines the behaviors of Phases 1 and 2: shooting spreads of red and purple shots while also constantly throwing Malogia Boulders. Occasionally, it will shoot in a rotating pattern and throw rings of Malogia Boulders around itself, but not necessarily at the same time.

This is the most dangerous part of the fight, especially if you are caught inside the ring of boulders. Like in Phase 2, you can avoid most if not all of the shots from the ring of boulders and even the Suesogian’s main shots while in the center, but it requires extremely careful movement. The single boulders should not pose a threat while you are dodging the Suesogian’s shotguns, but do not stay close to them when they explode.

If the Suesogian is defeated in time, the Malogia Satellite Core will be exposed as a harmless enemy and can be destroyed for a potential bonus reward. If not, the players will have secured most of the potential loot and can return to the realm.

Wave 3 Bonus: Malogia Satellite Core

Malogia Satellite Core
The Malogia Satellite Core is similar to a Test Chest in that it cannot attack and has high health so that players can secure soulbound damage. It also wanders in place slowly but cannot be Paralyzed. Once it is destroyed, the Realm Wormhole will open at the center.

Final note on loot: Nothing is guaranteed in this dungeon aside from the Malogia Fragments and Universal Fragments that appeared in the past but cannot be obtained anymore. However, there is still a much higher chance of receiving a white bag and a number of stat potions.
