Behavior

The Marble Colossus does not have a Quest Marker and must be manually found. When approached, he will slowly activate and shut off the door to the room shortly after.

Throughout the fight, he will spawn 4 Marble Colossus Pillars in the corners of the room that fire status shots. He will respawn them at a constant rate.

An interesting thing to note is that the Colossus has a healing factor that scales with the number of players in the room.

  • If there are more than 10 players, he heals at a rate of 5000 HP every 3 seconds.
  • If there are 2-9 players, he heals at a rate of 3000 HP every 4 seconds.
  • If there is only 1 player, he doesn’t heal at all.

Phase 1

Taunt: “Look upon my mighty bulwark.”
The Colossus spawns the Pillars for the first time. He fires rings of black boomerangs that stun, but otherwise does not do anything else until he takes enough damage. He is Armored for the whole phase, resulting in 100 DEF.

Phase 2

Taunt: “You doubt my strength? FATUUS! I will destroy you!”
The Colossus rapidly chases the nearest player, firing rings of white boomerangs and spreads of colossal slashes.

Phase 3

Taunt: “I cast you off!”
Moving to the center of the room, the boss begins spawning Marble Colossus Rocks in groups of 3. These will fly a certain distance away from the boss before expoding into rings of highly damaging shots.

Phase 4

Taunt: Your fervent attacks are no match for my strength! BEGONE!”
The boss fires an 8-armed spiral of Colossal Bullets that slowly rotates clockwise, similar to the Forgotten King in the Shatters. It is important not to touch the lasers, as each bullet does 300 damage and taking the full laser is guaranteed death.

He will continue to spawn trios of Marble Colossus Rocks, and will also begin to fire radial bursts of Colossal Blasts that Paralyze and 3-round spreads of large Colossal Spears that inflict Unstable. It is imperative to avoid the orange Colossal Blasts, as paralysis can lead to a run-in with the lasers.

Phase 5

Taunt: “INSOLENTIA! Darkness will consume you!”
The Colossus rapidly circles the center of the room, firing multidirectional streams of Colossal Wheels and radial bursts of Colossal Stars that confuse. He will also be throwing Red Bombs with a wide radius.

Phase 6

Taunt: “Brace for your demise!”
Moving back into the center of the room, the Colossus begins firing a 2-armed spiral of Colossal Wheels that rotates clockwise. He begins spawning the exploding Rocks again, this time in groups of 4.

Phase 7 (Survival)

Taunt: “Futility!”
The Colossus begins firing rapid, dense rings of Colossal Rocks that pierce armor. He also begins rapidly lobbing White Bombs that Quiet players.

This is his first Survival Phase: he is invulnerable for the whole phase, and he must be outlasted for about 25 seconds.

Phase 8

Taunt: “Call of voice, for naught. Plea of mercy, for naught. None may enter this chamber and live!”
The boss quickly chases players while firing rings of Colossal Balls that Paralyze. He also summons several special Marble Colossus Rocks that orbit him while firing streams of Pet Stasising shots. After he loses a bit of health, he will taunt:
“SANGUIS! OSSE! CARO! Feel it rend from your body!”
After that, he will add in a directed 3-shot spread of Colossal Spears.
Once he loses enough health, he will despawn the Rocks and taunt:
“PESTIS! The darkness consumes!”

Phase 9

Taunt: “Enough! Pillars, serve your purpose!”
The Colossus spawns several invulnerable Marble Colossus Rocks around the room that fire spirals of Pet Stasising shots. He will be circling the room, firing wide shotguns of Colossal Spears that do heavy damage.

Phase 10 (Survival)

Taunt: “Perish, blights upon this realm!”
The Marble Colossus Rocks begin orbiting the boss at a fairly far distance. The boss himself will be in the middle of the room, firing rings of Colossal Rocks and spreads of Colossal Spears.

This Survival Phase lasts about 45 seconds.

Phase 11 (Survival)

Taunt: “You have seen your last glimpse of sunlight!”
The Colossus respawns any dead pillars and fires the “lasers” of Colossal Bullets in a 3-armed spiral formation. The Colossus Rocks begin to orbit him closely while firing, and he also continues firing his rings of Colossal Rocks and spreads of Colossal Spears.

This survival phase lasts around 45 seconds.

Phase 12

Taunt: “PATI! The prohibited arts allow untold power!”
Despawning the Colossus Rocks, the Colossus quickly dashes at the nearest player before unleashing several rings of Colossal Spinners all around it. It will then fire several spreads of Colossal Spears at the nearest player before dashing again.

Phase 13

Taunt: “It is my duty to protect these catacombs! You dare threaten my purpose?”
Moving into the center of the room, the Colossus fires omnidirectional, oscillating streams of small Colossal Spears that inflict Unstable. He also aims a 3-shot spread of larger Colossal Spears at the nearest player.

Phase 14

Taunt: “Magia saps from my body… My immense physical strength STILL REMAINS!”
The Colossus starts summoning trios of the explosive Marble Colossus Rocks again, and continues firing 3-shot spreads of Colossal Spears at the nearest player. He also begins rapidly lobbing Quieting White Bombs.

After taking a bit more damage, he will taunt “Fear the halls!” and summons several Marble Colossus Rocks that closely orbit him while firing spirals of Pet Stasis shots.

If he takes sufficient damage he will taunt: “I… I am… Dying…” but continue his behavior from before.

Phase 15 (Survival)

Taunt: “You… YOU WILL COME WITH ME!”
The Colossus fires an 8-way spiral of his lasers that initially rotates clockwise. The Marble Colossus Rocks continue orbiting him and firing spirals of shots. The Colossus himself will also fire his spreads of Colossal Spears at the nearest player while lobbing quieting White Bombs, and he also continues spawning trios of explosive Colossus Rocks.

Note that the direction the lasers rotate will change frequently during this phase, so caution is needed. The frequency of the changes will increase as the phase nears completion.

This is a Survival Phase that lasts for 2 minutes and 30 seconds, meaning you must dodge his shots and outlast the Colossus. About 40 seconds into the phase he will taunt” “I CANNOT FAIL MY PURPOSE!” and spawn an additional satellite Colossal Rock, increasing the bullet density further.

Death

Taunt: “I feel myself… Slipping… Into the void… It is so… Dark…”
The Colossus is stationary for a bit as a mysterious purple crack expands beneath it. It then explodes into a massive ring of Colossal Spikes and Void Bullets as a final attempt to kill you, leaving your loot in tow.

If one has a Vial of Pure Darkness, they can use it on the purple crack to open a portal to The Void.

Drops

Note: One Potion of Attack and Potion of Defense will always drop for each player who achieved the soulbound damage threshold on the Marble Colossus. If a player receives no loot after defeating this boss, they did not reach the threshold. (Which is roughly 7000 damage).

Tips and Strategies

If you have a large group you must stay with in the group towards the final phase. You will die if you get seperated towards the end and have no way of healing yourself.

If you do not lag significantly, it is quite possible to dodge most of the shots without needing heals from other players, but be aware of the pillars that spawn in the 4 corners. Do not attempt it if you’re unable to dodge as your health will quickly deplete if you’re getting hit constantly.

A number of the Marble Colossus’ lines are spoken in Latin. They are as follows:
“You doubt my strength? FATUUS! I will destroy you!”
“Fatuus” translates to “Fool.”
“INSOLENTIA! Darkness will consume you!”
“Insolentia” means “Insolence.”
“SANGUIS! OSSE! CARO! Feel it rend from your body!”
“Sanguis”, “Osse”, and “Caro”, mean “Blood,” “Bone”, and “Flesh” respectively.
“PESTIS! The darkness consumes!”
“Pestis” roughly translates to “Death” or “Destruction”
“PATI! The prohibited arts allow untold power!”
“Pati” means “Suffer”.
“Magia saps from my body…my immense physical strength STILL REMAINS!”
“Magia” means “Magic”.
