Midlands (Rev. 4)

The midlands is the area between the lowlands and the highlands. In general, it contains the second longest road around the realm.

The transition from lowlands to midlands can be determined by the appearance of groups of white flowers or the disappearance of red-capped mushrooms. White flowers usually do not appear in the lowlands, and mushrooms do not appear outside of the lowlands except around the edges of a Dead Forest. Midland deserts appear the same as lowland deserts, and are differentiated by the enemies that appear.

The transition to the highlands is generally marked by the appearance of coniferous trees and the dissappearance of the broadleaf trees found in lowlands and midlands. Highland deserts can be marked by the appearance of prickly pear cacti rather than columnar cacti.

Terrain

Mid Forest A Features green grass and dense, green trees. It has occasional shrubbery and pink flowers and many white flowers. The enemies found here are often Mid Forest type.
Mid Forest B Features grey-green grass and green trees. It has occasional shrubbery and pink and white flowers. The enemies found here are often Mid Forest type.
Mid Plains Features grey-green grass and very sparse, green trees and occasional shrubbery. It appears similar to Mid Forest B, except there are no flowers and much fewer trees. The enemies found here are often Mid Plains type.
Mid Forest Plains A Features yellow grass and green trees. It has occasional shrubbery and pink and white flowers. Mid Forest and Mid Plains type enemies can be found here. Though it might be possible to tell the difference between what is forest and what is plains by the presence of white flowers or some other feature, it appears that very often the two are mixed together.
Mid Forest Plains B Features yellow grass and yellow trees. It has occasional shrubbery and pink and white flowers. Mid Forest and Mid Plains type enemies can be found here. As with the above, though it might be possible to tell the difference between what is forest and what is plains by the presence of white flowers or some other feature, it appears that very often the three are mixed together>
Mid Desert Features dry sand, columnar cacti, and succulent plants. The enemies found here are often Mid Sand type.

Monsters

Midlands enemies are divided into three groups: Mid Plains, Mid Forest, and Mid Sand. Because of random enemy wandering and the gradual transition between different terrain types, it is difficult to tell the difference between the three areas.
