The Mushroom Chieftain is an enemy found in the Fungal Cavern. It is the designated Leader of the Brown Mushroom family.

Slowly follows players while firing an omnidirectional barrage of small spores that inflict Quiet.
At half health, it goes invulnerable for a short time and starts aggressively chasing players. During this state, it will fire three shotguns of high-damage mushrooms, before releasing three AoE blasts that sequentially increase in radius. It will continue to repeat this pattern until its death.
Melee characters will have a hard time approaching it in its initial phase. Back out when you’re hurt: their low move speed makes it hard for them to even keep up with even slower characters.
Once in its second phase, avoid its shotguns, then go in for damage, and back out quickly to avoid its AoE attacks. Due to the first AoE’s low range, this should come at a rather low risk, but stay on your toes for the subsequent shotgun.
