Night elves, also known as dark elves or drows, are dark versions of the elves of the lowland forests who have been corrupted by magic. They typically lived in darkness and only would come out at night, but they now prefer to live in the mountains and highlands regardless of the levels of light due to the high concentration of dark magical energy in these areas.
Not to be confused with Dark Elf Queen.
