Pet Abilities

All pets have certain abilities. They are usually chosen at random when hatched. The first ability of hatched Pet Eggs are based on the Pet Family and type.

The possible abilities are Heal, Magic Heal, Electric, Attack Far, Attack Mid, Attack Close, Savage, Decoy, and Rising Fury.

As of Patch X.27.0.0, every Pet Family has a Pet with Heal as its first ability.

Fusing two pets will carry over the abilities of the chosen pet (placed on the left) and ignore the abilities of the second. For each rarity level, there is a maximum level that an ability can reach. Higher levels can mean higher frequency of the ability’s use, greater effectiveness, and more power.

Pets found from a high-rarity egg will behave as if their previous levels’ stats were maxed. A pet fused without maxed abilities will result in a higher-rarity level pet with a lower maximum ability cap, and in the long run, this will create an overall weak high-rarity pet that will not really be worth spending fame or gold on.

Unlocking Abilities

When increasing the pet’s rarity level, their ability level will not be affected. However, the ability levels’ stat caps can increase, the next ability can be unlocked, and the pet may look different depending on the rarity level.

For example, a divine pet with the heal ability at level 30 will heal 13 HP, the same as a common pet with heal level 30. The only differences are in the appearance of the pet and in the stat caps.

It is more costly to feed a pet at higher rarities, and feed power is less effective the higher the ability level is. As it is easier and more cost-efficient to level up at the lower rarity levels, it is advantageous to level up a pet until maxing and then fuse it.

Heal

Attack Close

Attack Mid

Attack Far

Decoy

“The pet acts as a decoy. Leveling increases range, duration and frequency of decoy.”

The pet drags shots towards itself whether or not it is further away from the monster than you.
It functions differently and better than a trickster decoy this way.

Also good to know is that a decoy pet does not decloak your character. It will never use its ability when the owner is cloaked, whether this is by using a rogue’s ability or a ghost pirate rum.

Electric

“Zaps any enemy foolish enough to touch your pet. This attack has a chance of paralyzing your foes.” Affects enemies between 2 tiles to .35 tiles.

Savage

“Pet charges enemies. Leveling increases frequency of charging.” Useful to bring your pet in range if they have an Attack Close, Attack Mid, or Attack Far ability.

Rising Fury

“Creates a small AoE blast. Leveling increases range of the blast, damage, and frequency of the blast.” Your pet will charge up while it’s standing still and fire an AoE blast when it moves. The longer your pet is charging, the stronger the blast will be, and the closer an enemy stands to the middle of the blast, the more damage it takes.
