Pets (Rev. 10)

Last updated: Release 14.0.0

As of Release 12.0.0, pets are only obtainable through "pet eggs" which are dropped in dark blue potion bags by Lesser Gods, Gods of the Realm, Event Gods, Dungeon Bosses, and Oryx 1 and 2. In general, players who had purchased pets in previous builds were given a corresponding pet egg. All pets who used to have idle animations were given a stationary look instead. Pets come in different rarity levels, Common, Uncommon, Rare, Legendary and Divine. Each pet can also have up to three abilities depending on their rarity level, and the abilities are improved by feeding pets items.

Pfiffel created a useful tool which is useful for experimenting with the pets, using a close representation to how they are in game.

For more information or anything not seen here, please refer to the Pets Prior to Release 12.0.0 page

Pet Yard: The Pet Yard is where eggs must be hatched, and it can contain up to 50 pets. Pets are only removed from the yard upon being Released or Fused - they do not leave when you die. The Pet Yard is also the place to feed or fuse pets, and both functions cost fame or gold, at an increasing price dependent upon the pet's rarity level.

Feeding: Items contain a "Feed Power" shown in their description, with higher numbers meaning that the item will increase a pet's levels more. It is advisable to use higher feed power items when possible, as it costs fame or gold each time a pet is fed. Food items can also be bought in the Nexus, used only for feeding pets.

Fusing: Fusing pets is only possible when the two pets used are of the same family and rarity, and as long as the Pet Yard has been upgraded to a high enough level to allow for it. The pet on the left and its stats will be retained while fusing, while the other will be consumed and disappear from the Pet Yard. It is best to max both pet's first stat before fusing, otherwise it will have a lower stat cap once fused. The level of the abilities other than the first does matter for the Divine level cap, as evidenced here. Fusing will give a random pet of the next rarity level. Below is a breakdown of the respective costs. "Fusion Strength" is a measure of how maxed the two pets being used are.

Rarity Level Pet Yard Upgrade Feeding Cost Fusing Cost
Common - 10 Fame or 5 Realm Gold 300 Fame or 100 Realm Gold
Uncommon 500 Fame or 150 Realm Gold 30 Fame or 12 Realm Gold 1000 Fame or 240 Realm Gold

Pet Families

All pets fall under a certain family, and pets of the same family can be fused together until they're divine level. Uncommon pets look the same as their Common counterpart, and Legendary pets are larger versions of their Rare counterparts. Divine pets are the only level that cannot be found in eggs. Mystery Eggs can contain a pet of any family at the respective rarity level that it is. Hover your mouse over each image to see the pet's name.

Abilities

All pets are able to have certain abilities, chosen at random when spawned. Fusing will carry over the pet's abilities, and ignore the abilities of the second pet that's being fused into the first pet. Per each rarity level there is a maximum level that an ability can reach. Higher levels can mean faster frequency of the ability being used, more effectiveness, and similar aspects. Pets found from a high rarity egg will be as if their previous levels' stats were maxed. A pet that is fused without having maxed abilities will result in a higher rarity level pet that will have a lower maximum ability cap. The possible abilities are Heal, Magic Heal, Electric, Attack Far, Attack Mid, Attack Close, Savage, Decoy, and Rising Fury. As of now, the numbers are an approximation.

Unlocking Abilities: At the common level, the 1st ability is unlocked and its maxed stat cap is level 30. At the uncommon level, the 2nd ability is unlocked and the stat cap increases to level 50. At the rare level, the maxed stat cap is increased to level 70. Only then at the Legendary level is the 3rd ability unlocked and the maxed stat cap is increased to level 90. At the Divine level, the maxed stat cap is increased to level 100.

Notes about fusing unmaxed pets: Pet rarity corresponds to common, uncommon, rare, legendary, and divine, while ability level corresponds to the the level of things such as heal, attack, paralyze, etc. When increasing the pet's rarity level, their ability level will not be affected. However, the ability levels' stat caps can increase, the next ability can be unlocked, and the pet may look different depending on the rarity level.

For example, a divine pet with the heal ability at level 30 will heal 14 hp, just the same as a common pet at heal level 30. The only difference is that the pet looks different and has a higher maxed stat cap.

At higher rarity levels, it is more costly to feed a pet. Coupled with this, feed power is less effective at higher ability levels, as 500 feed power may raise a low leveled ability several levels, yet hardly do much at the higher ability levels. Because of this, it is advantageous to level up at a lower rarity level until max, and then fuse as it is easier and more cost efficient to level up at the lower rarity levels.

Event Pets

These pets have only appeared for sale for a very short time, and the generators are consumed upon use, meaning these pets are lost with death or if another pet generator of any kind is used.

April Fools 2012 - The Lil' Oryx pet is a miniature version of Oryx, and occasionally taunts the player through chat. As of Release 12.0.0 it is classified as part of the ???? family.
Valentines Day 2012-2013 - As of Release 12.0.0, the generator (egg) creates a heart that lasts only while you're in the current realm, but the generator remains, so you can carry it around and a generate a new heart each time you switch realms. Hearts are always red. (In earlier releases, the Valentine generator could be used just once and created a heart that lasted until death.)
Holidays 2012 - Unlike other Event Pets, it could be spawned multiple times. As of Release 12.0.0, it is now part of the ???? family.

Dungeon Pets

Certain dungeons have a rare chance of dropping a pet related to it. Unlike most other eggs, these will be a specific egg for only that pet. The color of the egg corresponds to its family. Currently, these eggs will hatch as common regardless of the pet's typical rarity level. All three abilities for these pets are assigned randomly upon hatching.
